Procurement Assistant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our Client, a leading engineering and construction seeks to recruit a Procurement Assistant to support its mission and vision.
 
Overall Purpose of the job: The successful candidate will provide an effective link between management and suppliers in execution of day to day activities and achieving set targets and standards of operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitoring Re order levels to avoid stock outs
  • Preparation and initiation of annual procurement plans
  • Ensuring implementation of procurement committee decisions
  • Preparing LPO’s upon approval of order and supplier
  • Ensure effective inventory control to achieve improvements in stock turn over.
  • Participate in the tendering procedure to identify suppliers, contractors and consultants.
  • Establish and maintain database of vendors for goods and services required by the company and any records pertaining to procurement and stores
  • Secretary to the Procurement Committee.
  • Conduct market research to keep abreast of market developments for improvement of the procurement process.
  • Set procurement & quality targets and ensure good  Store management
  • Requisition goods and services to maintain the approved stock levels for all stores
  • Identify and recommend disposal of obsolete/unused goods/items in line with guidelines
Job Requirements
  • A minimum of a Diploma in a Business field preferably with a bias to purchasing and supplies or procurement.
  • Proficiency in computer packages.
  • Experience – Minimum 2 years
  • Good communication and organization skills
