Our Client, a leading engineering and
construction seeks to recruit a Procurement Assistant to
support its mission and vision.
Overall Purpose of the job: The successful candidate will provide an
effective link between management and suppliers in execution of day to day
activities and achieving set targets and standards of operation.
- Monitoring Re order levels to avoid stock outs
- Preparation and initiation of annual
procurement plans
- Ensuring implementation of procurement
committee decisions
- Preparing LPO’s upon approval of order and
supplier
- Ensure effective inventory control to achieve
improvements in stock turn over.
- Participate in the tendering procedure to
identify suppliers, contractors and consultants.
- Establish and maintain database of vendors for
goods and services required by the company and any records pertaining to
procurement and stores
- Secretary to the Procurement Committee.
- Conduct market research to keep abreast of
market developments for improvement of the procurement process.
- Set procurement & quality targets and
ensure good Store management
- Requisition goods and services to maintain the
approved stock levels for all stores
- Identify and recommend disposal of
obsolete/unused goods/items in line with guidelines
Job Requirements
- A minimum of a Diploma in a Business field
preferably with a bias to purchasing and supplies or procurement.
- Proficiency in computer packages.
- Experience – Minimum 2 years
- Good communication and organization skills
