IDB is seeking qualified individuals to join its team of dedicated staff in the following positions:

Job Title: Strategy and Business Development Officer

Supervisory Responsibility: Marketing Assistant
 
Job Purpose: The post holder will be expected to coordinate the development of Corporate Strategy, business and marketing plans and establish a framework for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of corporate performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the development of the corporate Strategy, business plan and marketing plans.
  • Development of the annual work plans for all departments drawn from the corporate plan.
  • Development of the corporate performance targets, cascading of the performance targets to all departments, periodic monitoring and evaluation of performance.
  • Implementation of the corporate risk management framework, handling compliance requirements and institutional reporting.
  • Coordinating the activities of business development, development of business prospects and referrals and liaising with the operations department on customer care issues.
  • Handle the company’s branding and media communication activities such as press releases, advertisements, marketing collaterals, and web site management.
  • Analyse the current and past budgets, expenses, revenues and product deficiencies in order to provide recommendations for business growth and problem resolution.
  • Provide market intelligence to support the Asset and Liability management framework of the institution.
  • Undertake documentation and policy development in various areas from time to time.
  • Liaise with the office of the Managing Director on provision of periodic reports as may be required from time to time.
  • Carries out any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Title: Human Resources Officer
 
Department: Human Resources
 
Reporting Relationship: Managing Director
 
Supervisory Responsibility: 2 Clerks, I Secretary and 2 Drivers
 
Job Purpose: The jobholder has the overall responsibility over the management and development of the Human Capital of IDB. 

The responsibilities cover the acquisition of qualified staff, retention, development, and ensuring compliance with the labour legislation when exiting staff. 


 
The job holder guides management and the Board on all HR related issues for organizational effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates and assists in the Development & implementation of human resourÅ“ plan and staff management policies and procedures
  • Develops appropriate HR interventions for effective management of the Human capital.
  • Coordinates staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely organized and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff.
  • Prepares training budget in liaison with finance, conducts Training Needs assessment and prepares annual training plans
  • Coordinates, implements training programmes, monitors and evaluates training outputs for both in-house and external training
  • Conducts induction training so as to integrate new employees ¡n the company’s system
  • Manages and applies the company appraisal scheme for assessing performance.
  • Implements performance assessment framework such as the setting of targets by staff
  • On a continuous basis strives to build a conducive work environment for enhanced performanÅ“
  • Oversees all the administrative functions such as travel arrangements, transport management and general premises management (cleanliness& all repairs).
  • Coordinates the staff disciplinary process
  • Oversees the procurement and supply of all office requirements
  • Participates in the development and implementation of IDB’s strategic/business development plan, annual operating plans& ensures effective management of the department’s contribution towards achievement of the plans.
  • Maintains contact with the industry, other organisations and government departments that are relevant to the human resources process in 1DB.
  • Manages both compensation and benefits package within the organisation philosophy.
  • Provides administrative support including maintenance of personnel records, payroll administration, process staff salaries & staff benefits and management of retirement benefits scheme.
  • Maintains good employees and industrial relations through well managed staff welfare schemes.
  • Ensures that accurate job descriptions are in place
  • Coordinates employee related legal issues, counselling, and stress management services for staff.
  • Oversees maintenance of adequate security, purchases, supplies, and telephone operations.
  • Carries out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Managing Director from time to time.
Job Specification
 
Academic: A university degree in Social Science or a relevant field. A diploma in HR Management.
 
Professional Qualification: HND in Human Resources issues
