Accountant Job in Kenya - NGO

ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Kenya to strengthen HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at County and Sub County health facilities. 

This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

 Accountant
 
Location: Kisumu
 
Overall Function: Working under the overall guidance of the Director-Finance, the Accountant Nyanza region will report to the Finance Manager, Nairobi and the Regional Director-Nyanza on day-today basis. 

He/she will be responsible for the management of regional office finances, accounting and compliance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure smooth cash flow for the regional office.
  • Maintain the office cash register (advances & liquidation)
  • Ensure supporting documentation for all cash, invoices, LPOs and disbursements complies with ICAPs, policies and procedures
  • Carry out assets verification and Stores reconciliation
  • Assist program teams in developing, monitoring and reporting on budgets versus actual spending
  • Facilitating internal / external audits
Requirements:
  • CPAK and a degree in Finance/Accounting
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience in similar or related field
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office preferably Excel and Accounting Software.
  • Proven track record of cash management
