Job Title: Audit Senior / Associate Consultant (Rwanda)

Reports to: Partners & Managers

Job Summary: This position will serve as the In Charge for several small and medium general Audit clients and will be required to provide guidance and supervision to less experienced staff in the field. 

The Senior Staff will be responsible for supervising the annual audits and review engagements, including all aspects of financial statement preparation, internal staffing of engagements, project scheduling and budgeting, planning of the engagement and related administrative functions. 

Time spent on Audit clients and Accounts and Consultancy duties will be 50-50.

Salary Range & Benefits:
  • A net of US$ 1,000 per month.
  • A shared Company house will be provided.
  • One return air ticket per year.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:
 
Audit Responsibilities & Duties
  • Lead client audit engagements, which include planning executing, directing, and completing financial audits.
  • Begin to develop generally accepted accounting principles and accounting and reporting rules, where applicable, and financial statement presentation.
  • A thorough understanding of ISAs' and common audit procedures and techniques.
  • Supervise, train and mentor associates and interns on audit process.
  • Research and analyze financial statement and audit related issues.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of the client’s business.
  • Proactively interact with key client’s management to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Perform other job related duties as necessary.
Accounts Responsibilities & Duties
  • Preparing management and annual accounts for clients
  • Identifying areas for possible improvement (e.g. to the financial structure of the entity, or to client business processes) and suggesting these to the Partner
  • Coordinate monthly and periodic tax returns and payments of client taxes
  • Liaising directly with clients to respond to queries or provide information, as requested
  • Plan the jobs for the staff reporting to you.
  • Supervision and review of the assignments done by the staff under you.
Consultancy Responsibilities & Duties
  • Coordinate with external business consultants hired by the firm in order to understudy them.
  • Performing business Forecasts as requested by the clients.
  • Preparation of clients Business Plans
  • Offer financial trainings to clients
  • Develop training materials as when required
  • Perform any other business consultancy related duties.
  • Plan the jobs before execution
Requirements & Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following basic qualifications:
  • 5 plus year of experience in external audits and accounts rising to position of a senior (public accounting experience) within a midsize firm. At least 2 years of accounting experience will be required.
  • Experience with engagement management, audit and review skills and staff supervision are required
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized professional with strong technical and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively with clients and staff.
  • Candidate will need to multi task as planning, executing and wrapping up various engagements may have to be performed concurrently.
  • Ability to perform research on technical matters prior to submitting for Manager/Partner review is essential.
  • Possess a first degree in Education, Arts or Statistics. Education Degree is preferred.
  • Be a qualified CPA or ACCA.
