Accountant Job in Kenya (55K - 70K)

Wanted: An experienced professional Accountant to lead the financial operations within an award winning, dynamic, medium sized, educational charity in Kilifi.
 
Starting Salary: Ksh 55,000 to 70,000 pcm dependent on experience
 
About Us: Founded in 2004, Kesho takes a holistic approach to change by offering financial support for education, academic and literacy support, enrichment and training, child protection and family support for nearly 2000 children, their peers and family members.
 

The Position Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of accounts for Kesho and the examination and preparation of accurate financial management reports to enable Kesho to meet it’s strategic financial and programme objectives.  
 
Core Responsibilities
  • General Accounting Procedures
  • Financial Management and Reporting
  • Budgeting and Forecasting with support from the ED
  • Development and strengthening of Systems, Policies and Procedures
  • Risk Management and Reduction
  • Payroll preparation and administration
  • Supervision of Accounts Clerk
Essential Requirements
  • A Bachelors Degree (Upper Second or First) in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA K desirable (CPA Section 2 Minimum).  ICPAK member desirable
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced skills in Quickbooks, Excel and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of national and industry related financial principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High degree of Integrity and Interest
