The role will also offer the intern a
chance to work in an office environment and grow experience working with a
team, admin work and one specific area of interest to the intern.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
- Organising campaigns and policy team monthly
meetings and putting together notes and sharing in a timely manner and
also following on action points
- Helping with admin plans for campaigns and
policy team meetings – Helios, finance, logs and admin
- Putting together requests (Helios) from
systems and assisting with systems updates and follow through of
request
- Assist campaigns and policy manager in
management of diary and travel logistics and communication
- Supporting the RCPM and RIC lead with
scheduling conference calls, dial-ins and taking minutes from these
meetings and follow ups.
- Looking out for calls for funding and working
with teams to develop draft concepts and proposals thereafter
- Finalising the organisation of the resource
centre
- Following what’s trending on FB,twitter etc
and updating RCPM’s handles when requested
- Developing, maintaining and updating a
calendar of events for the team
- Supporting RIC lead with regular posting and
uploading and communicating out to teams on what content is
available esp. on internal systems and updating RIC elists and
note taking on RIC calls, sharing notes etc
- Supporting the resilience lead with
documentation, helping set up meetings internally
- Other support to the campaigns team as
requested by the RCPM
Skills and Competence:
- A degree in development and or
International Relations studies or related field
- Experience of working in the field and/or
understanding of programme issues related to humanitarian and long term
development
- Understanding of advocacy work and its
importance
- Understanding of humanitarian issues and dry
lands issues
- Excellent communication and report
writing skills
- Proactive, self-starter – able to work with
minimum supervision.
- Excellent administration skills – excel,
management of systems etc
- Excellent time management, organisation, and
prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to
deadlines.
- The ability to work well in a team and right
attitude to starting a career
- Commitment to Oxfam’s values and an
understanding of gender and diversity.
- An understanding of humanitarian and or
development and communication issues.
- Flexible, enthusiastic and a willingness to
listen and learn from others.
- Knowledge and use of social media and digital
tech – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr etc for communicating
