Librarian
To organize, store, update and
retrieve video and other print and non-print material in order to make the
library an anchor information resource centre for the Presentation, KTN
Editorial and other authorized library users.
Key Responsibilities: -
·
To establish an organized cataloguing
and storage system for easy and speedy access to information required for TV
presentation and for research by editorial staff.
·
To control library stock, to maintain
an up to date borrower’s register and to send out overdue notices to borrowers.
·
To arrange library material according
to category and usage levels; such as foreign, local, new tapes, raw footages.
·
To cut and file topical articles from
newspapers.
·
To provide reference/retrieval
assistance service to Library users including identification of the best CDs,
CASCOM effects for use in commercial, local productions and features.
·
To line up programs for daily
transmission and to liaise with the programmes acquisition manager and
Presentation Editors on availability, preview and editing.
·
To evaluate the relevance of news
clips/raw footage, to catalogue and classify them and to do daily backup of
catalogued items.
·
To cut and file topical articles from
newspapers
Knowledge and Skills
·
University degree
·
Diploma in Librarianship.
·
Minimum of 5 years’ work experience
in Library
·
Ability work under pressure
·
Good Communicator
Studio Technical Operator
Ensuring that all day to day programs
and live bulletins are running in line with the pre-defined DTS and CTS in a
smooth and professional manner
Key Responsibilities: -
·
Report any anomalies/malfunctions any
technical equipment may exhibit to Snr STO & maintain high standard of
equipment cleanliness at all times
·
Ensuring all cameras and Lighting
within the studios is correct and at all times before and during live and
pre-recorded programs and to carry out general camera work.
·
Act as a sound technician within the
gallery and studio ensuring that all sound microphones are in place and
working, installation of mobile microphones on guests.
·
Liaising with T.V. Producers and
Reporters on live broadcasts ensuring correct flow as per ME Broadcast
specifications.
·
Handling of broadcast equipment
outside the premises ¡n times of live or pre-recorded events.
·
Database maintenance of information
into the VT Servers of the Appella Systems
·
To compile all commercials, programs
and announcements for transmission and run as per DTS and ensure that the
selected shots are well balanced on screen and relevant to the message
·
To receive and maintain up to date
daily record of relevant video tapes and to ensure their safe custody at the
end of each day
Knowledge and Skills
·
Diploma in Media Technology, or
Diploma in Studio Technical Operations, or Diploma in Broadcast Technology. A
Higher National Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering will be an
added advantage.
