Job Vacancies at Spire Ltd Kenya

Who is Spire?

Spire is a unique further education organization tackling the massive challenge of youth unemployment in Africa.

With 90% of Spire graduates receiving job offers within 3 months of graduating from our rigorous programmes, we give young people the skills, confidence, and experience needed to launch great careers and grow into leaders.

This video best captures some of the impact we have had to date.

A manager of one of our recent graduates said: “one month at Spire is equivalent to one year of experience at a good company.” The same goes for working here.

We challenge our students to grow, adapt and realize their potential and we challenge ourselves to do the same. As a rapidly growing start-up, theses are exciting times, not just for the organisation, but for our team too.

We practice what we preach and give every member of staff the ability to shape their own future as well as the future of the students we serve.

  • A great communicator: You’ll be able to explain complex ideas concisely and clearly. You’ll also be able to communicate great ideas visually, be it on posters, websites, social media or anywhere else needing creative and visual flair.
  • A great project manager: You’ll be able to keep track of and plan many different priorities that need to be completed at the same time and coordinate actions among many different people. • Detail oriented: You actually care whether your emails are spelled properly and capitalised correctly.  You notice when other people don’t do this.  It will annoy you to see small details like this not taken care of.
You’ll have:
  • A real interest in education & professional growth: You’ll be passionate about helping people learn new skills, develop fantastic careers and become the best possible versions of themselves.
  • 1-5 years of experience: In project management, production and/or communications roles that involve organising and executing complex processes to produce creative content for business purposes.

  • A hunger to grow: You’ll be looking to learn a lot & quickly.  You aren’t afraid to try things & make mistakes because you know that failing is the best way to learn.
And things you’ll do as part of the job will include:
  • Building and managing the processes and schedule for the production of all content for Spire’s innovative online learning experiences.
  • Coordinating production activities across a range of people, from internal Spire experts to managers and leaders at Spire’s partner companies.
  • Running video production processes end to end; getting a brief, storyboarding, running pre-production meetings, pitching for resources, filming and post-production.
  • Gaining approvals for all content so that it not only matches your high standards but also the standards of our learning design and marketing teams.
  • Creating and running a flawless system for storing and using all the material Spire creates for its online courses
  • Integrating digital materials into Spire’s online courses, working closely with Spire’s global technology partners
  • Developing new approaches to improving the content in Spire’s online courses and building and testing them with Spire’s learning design experts
About us:
  • We’re taking on one of the biggest problems in the world: youth unemployment is soaring and businesses are starved for skills
  • We’re a social enterprise with multi-year seed funding already secured
  • We received over 3,000 applications for our first 40 student places and have been written up in the international press and more recently, in the Daily Nation & on CNBC
  • Our leadership has spent decades working across East Africa with leading institutions such as the Clinton Foundation, McKinsey, and Partners in Health.  We believe there are two things that drive game-changing organisations: great people and great culture
