 Advisory Manager, Forensics

The positions will be based in our Nairobi office, with regular travel throughout the East African region.

You will be a valuable project lead resource focusing on the following:
  • Fraud investigations;
  • Fraud risk assessments and training;
  • Anti-Money Laundering advisory and training;
  • Implementation of Fraud and AML solutions;
  • Project and Data integrity assessments;
  • Analytic and Forensic Technology; and
  • Fraud and corruption surveys, amongst other services.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Ensure that all assignments are well planned, the team is well briefed and equipped to handle the assignment and that all team and client issues are addressed expeditiously.
  • Keep abreast with technical developments in the profession and the country, in order to anticipate client needs, and offer value added and practical business solutions.
  • Develop client service objectives, which will enable the Firm to fulfil its professional responsibilities, and satisfy its clients’ needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Develop and manage sound business relationships, and market the Firm with the aim of maintaining and winning new business,
  • Contribute to the preparation of divisional budgets.
  • Train and develop the skills of our staff, in accordance with the Firm’s methodologies and ensure that their performance is professionally managed per the Firm’s guidelines.
  • Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Law, or suitable equivalent (minimum upper second);
  • Professional qualifications in Accounting or Law;
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) qualification will be an added advantage;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large professional services firm or blue chip commercial enterprise, at least 2 of which should be at managerial grade;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fraud investigations or other forensic related services;
  • Additional experience encompassing any of the following will be an added advantage:
  1. External or internal audit services;
  2. Risk management or corporate governance services;
  3. ICT audit services.

Job Title: Head, Solutions Center - Clients and Industries

As Head Solutions Center, your responsibilities will be:
  • Generate forward-looking industry research into Deloitte’s target industries to creatively and innovatively combine this with cross-functional capabilities to develop distinct, integrated market offerings to take to the market to position Deloitte as the undisputed market leader.
  • Use research to identify compelling issues by industry, and quarterly or bi-annually update function capability statements for a continual fit between evolving industry scenarios, and the capabilities of the firm to meet them.
  • With functional input, bi-annually recommend ‘gaps to bridge’ between evolving industry scenarios, and capabilities of the firm to meet them as Service Line/ Function investment priorities that consistently position Deloitte as the undisputed market leader.
  • Lead by example to develop an drive development through others of breakthrough win pursuits (minimum USD500,000 each) delivering the firm to a client’s foregoing agenda.
  • Advocate Deloitte’s laid down strategic business development and relationship management approaches to all target client pursuits by industry to deliver the cross-functional might of the firm to a client.
Qualifications and Desired Attributes:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a business related field. A post graduate general management qualification from a reputable university will be an added advantage.
  • 10 years strategy, innovation, operational cross-functional and/or general management experience preferably in the private, but also public sectors.
  • Experience in change management will be an added advantage.
  • Experience of interacting and dealing with C-suite executives will be an added advantage.
  • At least 2-3 years should have been at Senior Manager level in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable understanding of industry-sector issues in 1-2 of Deloitte’s target industries.
  • Entrepreneurial in spirit and action, proactive, innovation and creative by disposition for value-adding solution development.
  • Insatiable quest and thirst for industry knowledge, demonstrably passionate about business development and relationship management.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting analysis and interpretation to drive business value.
  • Work with minimal supervision with demonstrated ability to deliver set targets, and/or exceed them and help others to do the same.
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Team worker, team management skills, demonstrably passionate to lead by example.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and executive varying tasks to execute C&I’s overall strategy.
  • Solid computer literacy.
The position is on a 3-year contract renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
