The Kisumu County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified drivers of vehicles of various categories including Saloons, Ambulances and Lorries.

Requirements
 
The applicant must have:
  • KCPE or KCSE or equivalent.
  • A valid Class BCE driving license free from any current negative endorsements
  • At least two years experience as a Saloon driver or three years experience for Ambulances and Lorries respectively.
  • A valid Certificate of Good Conduct (i.e. not more than one year old) issued by the Kenya Police
  • A valid First Aid certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent track record.
  • Be conversant with the provisions of the Traffic Act.
  • Training and experience in Motor Vehicle Mechanics will be an added advantage.
  • Letter from the Chief and letter of recommendation.

  • Must exercise courtesy, respect and decorum.
  • Must be available at times.
Responsibilities
  • Driving motor vehicle as authorized
  • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems, tyre pressure and fuel
  • Identifying and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems to his/her immediate supervisor and Transport Officer
  • Maintaining daily work ticket/driver logs for, and complete pre-trip inspections logs of vehicle assigned
  • Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road
  • Reporting promptly to the supervisor and the police in the event of an accident
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
  • Transporting authorized equipment and passengers to designated locations in a safe, courteous and timely manner
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor or Transport Officer from time to time.
