The Role: Oxfam in Kenya requires a highly experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to provide financial management and capacity and business support for the effective and efficient implementation of programmes  to advise the Oxfam and partner programmes in Wajir District on ‘best practice’ in all finance functions.
Person Specification
The Finance & Administrative Officer will take responsibility for and provide overall management of and an advisory role on all aspects of finance services.  

This will include being responsible for the constant functioning of cash flow needs of the Wajir Programme team. 

Coordinate all aspects of documentation for supplier payments, ensuring that proper planning, documentation and security procedures are maintained at all times. 

Ensure that accurate periodic cash forecasts are prepared in liaison with Nairobi finance and float top ups are submitted to the Nairobi Office by the due dates. 

Ensure the Office have sufficient cash at all times to deliver the Projects Objectives.
The position holder is expected to provide essential support and advice to partners on matters relating to management of their finances and specifically on Oxfam budgets that they manage. 

Periodic on the job training of partner accounts teams may be necessary in the areas of financial management & reporting.

Administrative
  • On the Administrative function you are expected to support in organising meetings and in-house/ external events, payment of related costs and ensure that staffs leave record are updated and correct at all times. 
  • Ensure that all Admin records are properly filed – both electronically and in physical files. 
  • Manage stationery and office supplies, record keeping and stock supplies from store to office.
The Finance and Administrative Officer is expected to work closely with Nairobi Logistics and other staff to ensure timely passenger travel and accommodation bookings, among other Administrative tasks as required.
