The Editorial Intern (EI) is assigned to writing articles and features for both the online and web versions of the magazine.

The EI needs to come up with article
ideas and provide a steady flow of content both online and for print.
Topics include but are not limited
to: arts and culture, events, lifestyle and politics, food and commercially
driven articles.
The EI reports on a daily basis to the Associate Editor (A.E.) who can assign them to one of the relevant project editors where needed.

The S.W must focus on growing the
network of his/her “beat” and make sure he/she is in the loop for all upcoming
events and press conferences.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Produce a minimum of three original web
articles each day in addition to the articles that have been assigned for
print
- Produce articles in a timely manner and keep
deadlines
- Source pictures for online articles
- Do interviews (phone, Skype, email or in
person)
- Keep abreast of breaking and trending stories
and follow-up where necessary
- Provide ideas and creative input for monthly,
weekly and daily editorial meetings
- Manage flow of online content alongside the
Digital Editor
- Attend events and press conferences on behalf
of the magazine and engage in the role of UP Brand Ambassador
Requirements
- Proven exceptional writing and editing skills,
sharp analytic skills, meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Internet
research.
- Strong interest in current events.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
