Job Title: MFI Customer Service Officer

The recently established institution seeks to hire a dynamic individual to fill the role of a Customer Service Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing new micro-finance business
  • Ensure 100% compliance to the Bank’s policies and Procedures on Account Opening.
  • Ensure all accounts opened have complete and correct documentation.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy on data quality.
  • Ensure high standards of Customer Service are maintained as the first contact person between the Bank and potential customers.
  • Ensure strong adherence to anti money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) policy guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance to the CBK prudential guidelines
  • Handle customer relations
  • Making customers’ experiences better  by ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring availability of marketing materials in the branch
  • Ensuring general cleanliness in the branch
  • Daily and monthly report preparation
  • Responding to customer queries in a professional manner
  • Carrying out customer and product related document processing
  • Ensure 100% compliance to the set guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as issued
Academic and Professional Qualifications
  • Professional qualifications preferably in Finance , accounting or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in banking or retail services
  • Basic mathematics, business acumen and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications Excel /Microsoft Office and data entry skills
  • Fluency in English required, Igbo or other local language skills strongly desirable.
  • Oriented towards high-quality and friendly customer-service standards
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and respond to customer needs and an effectively communicate benefits of products and services

Key Responsibilities


  • Marketing the new micro-finance business
  • Conducting market intelligence and competitors analysis
  • Responsible for the individual targets on number of accounts, deposit mobilization and growth of the loan book.
  • Credit appraisal and evaluation.
  •  Loan origination, sanctioning and disbursal.
  • Post disbursement loan management.
  • Security perfection-land valuation and charge processes, motor vehicle joint registration and chattel mortgage and registration processes.
  • Portfolio management
  • Maintaining of a quality portfolio

  • Active collaboration with various stakeholders to meet business objectives
Academic and professional qualifications
  • Bachelor degree preferably in Finance , accounting or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience as a relationship officer with a financial institution
  • Knowledge and experience of Banking /Financial Services, products and policies
  • Preferably should have product knowledge certification
  • Competitive awareness  and excellent financial market knowledge

Job Title: MFI Credit Manager

Reports to: CEO and Branch Manager
 
Location: Dagoretti, Nairobi
 
Salary: 100K – 180K gross

An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client, a unique microfinance institution offering micro credit solutions, to positively transform the lives of their customers and other stakeholders. 

The recently established institution seeks to hire a dynamic individual to fill the role of a Credit Manager. Candidates working and living within the area are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the daily administration for loan documentation in full compliance with the internal standards and external regulatory requirements
  • Review loan documents and liaise with internal and external parties to ensure proper and efficient delivery of credit administration duties
  • Conduct periodical review on loan administration policy and procedures to streamline workflow
  • Control the recording, deposit and withdrawal of the security documentations properly
  • Generate, review and maintain loan disbursement reports for presentation to credit committees, and provide monthly reports on the same, in accordance to the credit policy and guidelines.
  • Ensure all lending Documentation is complete as per the Company Policy and Procedures with respect to amount of finance, terms and conditions, borrower’s borrowing mandate, authorized signatory etc.
  • Ensure that there is a robust process for the safe custody and control of all security documents
  • Ensure compliance with the internal policy, credit approval terms and conditions regulatory ratio / policies etc., complete set of documentation Is complete and verification, thereof, before approving any new finance request
  • Responsible for collateral valuation, collateral monitoring and collateral reconciliation with original documents, weekly monitoring of any pledged shares value to ensure compliance of coverage ratio and advise Corporate Credit to request top up in case of depreciation of pledge share price.
  • Approval from relevant authorities is held for deferral / waiver of incomplete documents
  • Ensuring post disbursement compliance with approved terms and conditions, assignment of rights, review expiry of credits, progress payment insurance, post fact mortgage e.t.c
  • Review daily system credit monitoring and management reports and identify non performing accounts with irregularities and proactively follow-up to ensure corrective action taken in line with credit policy.
  • Monitor all irregularities, past dues, documentation deficiencies, etc., and report to Senior Management
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Five (5) plus in a credit management function; Microsoft Office products and banking system experience
  • Strong decision making experience with regards to credit issues
  • Understand the Credit recovery process and actively participate on Watchlist
  • Thorough working knowledge of the Risk systems monitoring, and its related procedures, for analyzing the account behavior of clients, identifying trends and shifts in credit risk profiles.
  • Thorough understanding of bank’s products and facilities that give rise to counter party credit risk.
  • Strong technical understanding of non-credit risks encountered within transactions.
  • Knowledge of financial markets (Global and especially African economies).
  • Thorough conceptual and practical knowledge of credit procedures, policies, standards.
  • Knowledge of risk systems and derivative instruments.
  • Assuming the lead on projects and bringing to conclusion.
  • Energetic, detailed oriented, able to adhere to deadlines on a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills for negotiation & reconciliation
  • Leadership & control work policy
  • Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency required
  • Credit associate member
  • Must have excellent negotiation and problem solving skills
