Internal Audit Manager Job in Kenya

The Nairobi Hospital, a leading health care institution in Eastern Africa has an excellent career opportunity for Internal Audit Manager.

Reporting to the Board Audit and Risk Committee, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading and building a robust a highly professional internal audit function.

Particular Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing leadership to the Internal Audit Department and developing the appropriate capacity, structures, systems, competencies and values.
  • Reviewing systems and procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, plans, standards and statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring that prescribed management policies, systems, procedures, statutory and other obligations are correctly applied in all areas of Hospital operations.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive annual audit plans and ensuring that both routine and special audits are carried out accordingly.
  • Participating in enterprise wide risk management by identifying weaknesses in policies, practices, controls and information systems.
  • Determining the accuracy and reliability of accounting records.
  • Providing recommendations to mitigate business risks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Liaising with external auditors.
  • Ensuring audit working papers are properly prepared, referenced, reviewed and documented systematically.
  • Verifying records of assets and safeguarded and properly utilized by those concerned.
  • Maintaining complete confidentiality of records and information obtained during the course of audit jobs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Business degree.
  • CPA (K) or ACCA.
  • CISA/CSM will be added advantage.
  • Seven (7) years work experience, 4 of which should internal auditing experience in a senior position.
  • Excellent working knowledge of auditing standards.
  • Exposure to ERPs.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • High personal integrity.
