Assisted Partner Notification Services (APS) Study

Assisted Partner Notification Services which is a partnership between the National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP), Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), and the University of Washington is currently seeking qualified and competent persons to fill the following position for a clinical trial about HIV.

 

Data Manager (Nairobi)

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervision of study data collection and analysis. 

S/he will be reporting to the Study Co-coordinators Assisted Partner Services Study (APS) and the Assisted Partner Services Study Supplemental Grant (APSS). 

S/he must be able to work with minimal supervision and for long hours when necessary. 

A career interest in HIV/STI research and training is strongly preferred.

Qualifications:
  • Applicant should be a holder of at least Bachelor of Science in bio/statistics or related field.
  • Proficiency in Stata and/or Microsoft Access - Mandatory
  • Knowledge of QSL programming is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with smart phone data collection and Open Data Kit (ODK)-Mandatory
  • Prior research experience - mandatory
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems and/or biometric identification systems
  • Certification in Human Subjects Protection and Good Clinical Practice
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead, coordinate, and accomplish research activities
  • Strong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Previous experience in a similar position will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Database development and maintenance; and tabulating program data
  • Generate the required weekly and quarterly reports for APS
  • Ensure source documents are safeguarded and that optimal data quality is maintained.
  • Maintain a clean log frame of data queries and how they have been resolved.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of staff data activities at multiple field sites in Kenya
  • Managing study ethics and human subjects protection
  • Database development and management
  • Oversight of study implementation at VCT sites
