Our client seeks to hire an accounts assistant to handle the general ledgers and day to day accounting duties Coordinate the institution’s overall Accounting operations

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Preparation of schedules for reports
  • Preparation of final accounts
  • Ensuring the school’s compliance with relevant statutory requirements
  • Updating the general ledger operations and making all journal entries
  • Preparation of monthly income and expenditure and related financial statements and financial forecasts.
  • Keep records of all financial transactions within the organization in an orderly manner.
  • Create and follow a filing system that is simple and easy to retrieve files and records.
  • Ensuring the accounting records are completed on monthly basis.
  • Entering daily transactions to the existing accounting software QuickBooks/MS Excel
  • Prepare cheque request forms for payments attaching all required supporting documents.
  • Disburse cash payments as per the financial policy of the company.
  • Support the staff in processing their payment requests.
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Ensuring all advance accounts are zeroed out.
  • Prepare & compute withholding taxes and other statutory deductions in accordance to the law.
  • From time to time prepare periodical financial reports as requested by the Directors.
  • Keep all the financial records.
  • Ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness in the processing financial information.
  • Any other duties as assigned
Qualification & Skills
  • A Business/Commerce related degree  or Diploma with an Accounting option desirable
  • CPA Part 2 and Above
  • Proficiency in use of accounting software like QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Finance and Accounting principles.
  • 2- 3years Accounting experience in an educational institution or busy accounts office
  • Knowledge in General Ledger accounts 
  • Audit experience  is desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Highly motivated to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication, high computer literacy levels (Microsoft Office) and interpersonal skills
  • Good networking skills
