An exciting career opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enterprising individuals to join the organization as Medical Representatives based in Kenya in the Pharmaceutical Division.
 
The successful candidates’ principal purpose will be to ensure detailing of pharmaceutical products and sharing of technical knowledge with healthcare professionals.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Promoting and detailing assigned company products to various Medical professionals in order to generate prescriptions;
  • Organizing and conducting value- adding Continuing Medical Education to various groups to enhance customer understanding of key brand messages;
  • Managing assigned territory to ensure efficiency and effectiveness;

Qualification & Knowledge
 
The prospective candidate will have a minimum of an a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry or Biochemistry with at least two years pharmaceutical sales experience within the healthcare industry with consistent high performance demonstrated within this period.

The candidate will have good interpersonal skills, excellent selling capability and good communication skills.

They will have impeccable integrity and hold a valid driving licence.

Essential Job Responsibilities
 
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Drawing up and implementing marketing strategies and plans for assigned range of products;
  • Providing strategic focusing and indication positioning of products within portfolio;
  • Achieving sales and profit targets by resourcing and complementing the activities of the East Africa commercial sales team;
  • Providing strategic direction on new product introduction and development of new markets;
  • Forecasting for assigned products;
  • Lobbying and networking with the relevant stakeholders;
  • Ensuring that all marketing activities adhere to promotion and marketing code to achieve performance with integrity;

Candidate Profile
 
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or Biological Sciences and least 2-3 years marketing, medical or sales management experience in the pharmaceutical industry across a wide geographical region(s).

Post-graduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, CIM) would be an added advantage.

Marketing Director

Essential Job Responsibilities

 
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Developing the marketing strategy in liaison with the sales team and ensuring delivery on the same;
  • Developing and maintaining a robust pricing policy that supports the GSK access agenda;
  • Providing leadership to the marketing team;
  • Coordinating new market developments plans to harness business opportunity;
  • Ensuring implementation of the international GSK plans in the cluster markets;
  • Managing cross-functional teams that play a key role in delivery of the marketing strategy;
  • Monitoring and ensuring strict compliance to medical governance and quality management issues relating to marketing

Candidate Profile
 
The successful candidate will have a degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or Biological Sciences and at least 8 years experience in sales or marketing management capacity preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. 

MBA and/or post marketing certification form a recognized institution are highly desirable.

The candidate will have strong strategic marketing and management skills, excellent communication and presentation skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Vaccines Director

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing the East Africa cluster vaccines business in line with the set strategic objectives;
  • Ensuring successful implementation of vaccine strategy for the East Africa cluster market;
  • Engaging on key vaccine policy related issues with relevant stakeholders;
  • Establishing and managing functional plans and budget;
  • Identifying, managing and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholder groups;
  • Developing business initiatives designed to deliver added value to customers;
  • Ensuring optimum resourcing and appropriate organizational structure drive execution of brand plans and delivery of strategic objectives;

Candidate Profile

Medical Director
 
Essential Job Responsibilities
 
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Accounting for the governance oversight and implementation of scientific engagement principles and operating practices;
  • Securing clinical research and development for East Africa by ongoing interactions with central GSK research divisions, regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders and investigators to ensure continued involvement in international multicentre clinical trials;
  • Providing support to the commercial organization to ensure successful commercialization of products throughout their life cycles;
  • Reviewing and approving promotional materials to ensure that they adhere to agreed standard operating procedures taking into account latest codes of conduct;
  • Providing a robust medical information service to both internal and external customers;
  • Managing the medical department;
  • Discussing with and representing GlaxoSmithKline to policy makers and regulatory bodies;
  • Supplying and maintaining a compassionate use programme of unregistered products in accordance with legislation and clinical need;
  • Working with respective country managers and contribute to the growth of the individual East Africa cluster market.
Candidate profile
 
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a degree in Medicine, must be registered with the Medical and Dentists Practitioners Board and have a current Practicing License.

The candidate will have a post graduate management or business qualification and over 8 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

The candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to network with key opinion leaders, experience in management of medical governance, maturity and sensitive information/crisis management.
