The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) is a State Corporation established under the Industrial Training (Amendment) Act of 2011. 

The mandate of the Authority is to promote the highest standards in the quality and efficiency of industrial training in Kenya and ensure adequate supply of properly trained manpower at all levels in industry.
 
The Authority wishes to recruit results oriented Kenyan citizens with drive, vision and creativity to fill various positions at its Headquarters based in Nairobi and Regional offices in Athi River, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru and Nyeri to ensure delivery of its mandate.

Finance and Levy Administration Department

Senior Industrial Training Levy Officer

Reporting to the Manager Finance and Levy Administration, the jobholder will be responsible for ssupervising and directing prosecutions and ensuring recovery of penalties in line with Industrial Training (Amendment) Act 2011. 

The job holder will also be responsible for:
  • Planning and executing levy collection strategies so as to achieve assigned collection targets
  • Registration of levy contributors
  • Sensitizing employers on the role and importance of Levy Contribution
  • Formulating and implementing progressive partnerships with Levy contributors
  • Confirming accurate and timely posting of Levy collections in liaison with the accounts office
  • Receivership, bankruptcy and liquidation cases and the de-registration of employers after due consideration.
  • Performing any other relevant duties as may be delegated.
The successful candidate must have an advanced degree in Social sciences and 10 years’ working experience in a marketing and sales position. 

Candidates with additional qualifications in Accounting (CPA) & or Diploma in law and are members of a relevant professional body will have an added advantage.

Reporting to the Manager Finance and Levy Administration, the jobholder will be responsible for enforcing the Industrial Training (Amendment) Act 2011 and  the collection of training levy from leviable employers. 

The job holder will also be responsible for:
  • Preparation and implementation of Levy Inspection work schedules and plans as required
  • Registration of levy contributors
  • Collection of training levy so as to meet set targets
  • Advising employers on the operations of training schemes Carrying out regular Inspection of Levy Contributors so as to ensure accuracy of their returns and overall compliance with the Act
  • Preparing timely quarterly reports on registrations, Levy collections and other awareness activities.
  • Facilitating Prosecution of defaulting employers
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with 5 years’ working experience in marketing and sale position. 

Candidates with additional qualifications in Accounting (CPA) &/or Diploma in law and are members of relevant professional bodies will have an added advantage.
