Clinical Officer (Anaesthetist)

The officer will work under the
guidance of Anesthesiologists.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties will include the
following among others.
- Giving Anesthetist to patients due to undergo
surgery in a theater
- Attending to Emergency cases in the High
dependent and intensive care units.
- Attending to resuscitation of critical
emergency cases
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time
to time
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Be a holder a Kenya certificate of secondary
education (KCSE) mean grade C- and above
- Be a holder of a Diploma in clinical medicine
and surgery and a higher diploma in Anaesthesia from a recognized medical
training college
- Have a valid registration with the Clinical
Officer’s Council
- Have valid registration license
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s post graduate
experience
- Computer Literate
- Must have served at least three years in the
grade of clinical officer III
- Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of
the Kenya Constitution 2010

Position Summary: To ensure effective and efficient provision of
administrative support services in the county and Subcounty hospitals and
primary care facilities. The Medical Superintendents will work under the
guidance of the County Director of Health
Job Functions and
Standards
- Ensure good corporate governance in the
hospital
- Ensure protection, development and maintenance
of hospital facilities
- Use of Information, Communication and
Technology to enhance service delivery
- Provide guidance in the development and
implementation of strategic plans and Annual Work Plans, aligned to Vision
2030 and Health Sector Strategic Plans and Policies
- Provide guidance in the development of
departmental and individual staff work plans aligned to the Hospital
Strategic Plans
- Ensure effective human resource management and
development
- Provide direction, guidance and counsel in
ensuring achievement of Performance Contracts targets
- Ensure period performance appraisals by all
staff are conducted and documented
- Ensure effective financial management in
accordance with Government financial and accounting procedures
- Facilitate the sustainability of hospital
operations development of Public Private Partnerships, collaboration with
development partners, research and health/learning institutions
- Ensure safety and security within the hospital
premises in accordance with the Public Health and Occupational Safety and
other guidelines
- Ensures that employees are made aware of
potential hazards in the work place and how to deal with them in a safe
and efficient manner.
- Ensures that a proper fire safety and disaster
management plan are in place
- Ensure relevant surveys including but to
limited to customer satisfaction surveys, staff satisfaction and work
climate satisfaction surveys are conducted annually and
findings/recommendations implemented
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure
staff comply to the MOMS /MOPH quality assurance guidelines; and to
monitor service quality and for investigating incidents, and complaints in
the hospital
- Support the management of clinical audit,
promoting and participating in quality assurance issues including
multidisciplinary audit and quality initiatives.
- Continuously monitor activities against
quality standards, anticipating factors that may adversely affect quality
of services and undertake corrective measures.
- Undertake any other duties as directed by
supervisor
Required Competencies
- Be a Kenyan Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or equivalent
from a recognized University
- Masters in a specialized domain e.g. MPH,
Hospital Management, will be an added advantage
- Registered with Medical Practitioners and
Dentists Board
- Have a valid registration license
- Have 3 years relevant working experience
- Satisfy chapter six of the constitution
- Computer literate

Community Oral Health Officer

Position Summary: To promote oral health services in schools and communities.

Essential Job Functions and Standards
- Conduct awareness campaigns in schools,
communities including amongst women groups and in maternal child health
clinics
- On a regular basis, conduct mass dental
checkups
- Conduct basic community oral health status
surveys
- Conduct chemical tests and analysis on water
samples to determine fluoride content
- Diagnose and treat common dental conditions
- Induct, supervise, train interns in the
department
- Undertake research, provide support to
hospital staff and external researchers undertaking research
- Participate in the development of departmental
work plan and budget based on the hospital strategic plan
- Prepare individual annual work plans, and in
consultation with your supervisor, periodically participate in appraisal
discussions.
- Participate in departmental meetings and in
committees related to Social Work
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly reports
- Undertake any other duties as directed by your
supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Community Oral Health
- Two years relevant working experience
- Registration with the relevant body
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Radiographer

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties will among others
include:
- Provision of radiographic services to patients
- Processing, verifying and maintaining
information relating to patients
- Ordering and maintaining records of
radiographic supplies requirements
- Supervise staff; and performing administrative
duties
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time
to time.
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenya citizen
- Diploma in Diagnostic Radiology from a
recognized institution.
- Computer literate
- A minimum of two years working experience
- Registered with a professional body
- Additional training in medical imaging
services, ultra sound, computerized tomography/Magnetic Resonance
Imaging/Mammography, Digital Medical Imaging will be an added advantage
- Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of
the Kenya Constitution 2010
