Kenyan Financial Institution is seeking to recruit highly competent and focused
individuals for the following position:
Risk and Compliance
Manager
Reporting to the Operations Officer,
his/her key duties and responsibilities will include:
- To plan, design and implement risk management process for the Organization by developing risk profiles and operating models.
- To develop and periodically update risk policies.
- To conduct audits of the Organization’s policies and check for compliance to standards.
- To maintain an updated register of all applicable legislations and By-laws and the relevant sections to be complied with.
- To identify risks associated with specific strategies, business areas and positions
- To evaluate, monitor and review processes and implement measures to control and mitigate qualitative and quantitative risks according to the organization’s risk profile.
- To evaluate risks of new products, services and processes introduced by the Organization.
- To document and ensure communication/awareness of risks to departmental/business area heads for them to understand their accountability for individual risks.
- To produce reports that outline risk findings, explain risk positions and recommend changes to management.
- To produce reports on risk management for the Board and external stakeholders.
- To conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of business risks in order to identify and remedy any lapses in compliance.
- To conduct regular assessment of credit portfolios in order to identify and analyse related risks.
- To providing support, education and training to staff on risk management and compliance issues
- To Monitor compliance with statutory reports and returns (REGULATORY BODY, KRA, NHIF, NSSF, HELB).
- To Make the Risk and Compliance function an efficient and value adding arm of the organization
- Ensure that members, internal and external customers are accorded customer service that is responsive and meet their needs and expectations.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors Degree in Finance and a post graduate qualification in Risk Management
- Previous relevant work experience required
- At least 3 years experience in finance or risk management function
