PEACE III is to support EA regional and US government goals in improving
stability along EA’s border regions by strengthening the horizontal and
vertical linkages within and between local, national and regional conflict
management actors.
PEACE III
will work with local implementing partners to build capacity of community peace
leaders and organizations while strengthening inter-personal and inter-communal
collaboration at all levels
Pact is
seeking to recruit dynamic, qualified and experienced individuals to fill the
following position:
Position Title: Grants Assistant
Supervisor: Grants Officer
Supervises: None
Location: Nairobi
Job Summary: The Grants Assistant will primarily
be responsible for assisting in day to day grant administration and filing of
grant documents.
Roles and Responsibilities
The job holder’s duties and
responsibilities are outlined as follows:
- Assist in the conduct of pre-award assessments for potential grantees
- Assist in the review of grantee budgets
- Assist in preparing grant contractual documents for grantees approved for funding
- Assist grant officers in the raising of grant cash requests and reviewing of grantee liquidations
- Be responsible for selected field related activity payments for in-kind grants e.g. workshop events, community meetings etc
- Prepare expense reports for partner in-kind activities assigned with adequate supporting documentation
- Assist in conducting financial reviews for cash grants
- Assist in close-out procedures by ensuring that all grant files are complete and close outs are conducted in a timely manner
- Assist in provision of relevant information for organizational audits
- Maintain and update of grant files
- Identify grantee financial training needs and provide technical assistance where needed
- Assist in developing training materials and resources for Pact
- Other grant related duties as may be required
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in commerce, economics, other relevant degree or at least CPA 2
- At least six months of experience working on an internationally funded project. Experience with USAID funded projects preferred
- Highly proficient in Ms Word, Excel, Access, Power-point and the use of Internet for research
