Customer Service Officer - Logistics

Salary: Ksh 50,000- 60,000 gross

Our client is a comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions provider.

They seek to hire a Customer Service Officer who can take charge of the customer service department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Handle port, customs and shipping/ air freight requirements for clients
  • Handle requests for quotations, proposals and bid documents ensuring accuracy and strict timelines
  • Liaise with the network/ shipping lines to obtain timely rates and documentation pertaining to the shipment etc
  • Proper filing of quotes, communications in appropriate files, timely entry in our internal systems
  • Keeping up the deadlines and most importantly ensure seamless communication
  • Tracking of shipments/documentation and update the client regularly in case of delays.
  • Weekly reports to the management
  • Maintenance of good relationship with customers and colleagues
  • Strict adherence to regulatory procedures
  • Deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve customer complaints

Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma/ Degree in Logistics/ Supply/ Freight/ Business
  • 3 years experience in the logistics/ freight/ supply industry in similar capacity
  • Extensive knowledge in transport, logistics, freight and supply chain
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and proper documentation
  • Good presentation skills
  • Confidentiality and high integrity
  • Ability to work with minimum Supervision
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Good business acumen& Time management to meet deadlines
