Cost Accountant -
Manufacturing

Location: Nairobi
Salary: Ksh 80,000 gross
Our client
is a startup company that has setup a factory for the manufacture of world
class solar systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and update standard costs of manufactured products
- Cost raw materials Imports and finished product
- Evaluate production costs, gains & losses and month-end closing data
- Process TREO and liaise with Customs & Clearing agents for imports
- Advise on product profitability and pricing structures
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
- Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs using generally accepted accounting principles
- Modelling of costs and Projects to assist in decision making
- Coordinate Physical inventory counts and cycle counts
- Report on breakeven points by products and cost centers
- Work Closely with stores to ensure re-orders level of raw materials is maintained.
- Support relevant departments with timely data for decision making
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or business/finance
- CPA Professional qualification is mandatory
- Minimum 4 years experience in manufacturing sector
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing financial data
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer literate and experience in ERP
