Project Manager
Based in Kilifi

Will be
based at the Kilifi Program Unit on a 5 year contract.
Purpose of the Job and Key
Responsibilities:
- The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of a Plan CIDA/DFATD project.
- S/he must demonstrate experience in managing project budgets over and above USD2 million preferably across various implementation sites and have worked with partners.
- The Project Manager will be responsible and oversee the implementation of specific approved project/s. this include, planning, implementation, personnel management, resource management, monitoring & evaluation .
- The project Manager will work closely with key stakeholders.
- S/he will be responsible in designing and developing complementary or new funding proposals.
- S/he is expected to ensure quality of project activities/results including coordinating external technical support/expertise.
Educational Qualification, Knowledge
& Experience:
- Degree in social science, or management related issues; community development or other equivalent plus post graduate qualifications.
- At least 7 years relevant experience in community development/child protection/education/gender work, with minimum of 4 years at a supervisory/ managerial level
- Thorough knowledge of programming processes, systems and principles, and the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at community level
- Sound understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child poverty
- Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning processes
- Commitment to international development and children’s rights
