Finance Manager –
Horticulture Industry
Our client,
a tower company, is looking for a senior level Finance Manager with experience
in the horticulture industry
Responsibilities:
- Supervising the Finance Department.
- Updating the Fixed assets schedule with all disposals and acquisitions, and run monthly depreciation schedules
- Payroll administration for all employees and posting of salary JVs
- Preparing the Final Accounts- P&L, Trial Balance and Balance sheet and ensuring conformity with the IFRS.
- Preparing& updating daily cash flow statements and ensure all the cost are charged to the correct cost centre, and advise management on optimal cash position.
- Checking weekly bank balance and advice management on when to trade foreign currency
- Checking and ensuring ALL statutories are filed and paid on time
- Computing and remitting all corporate taxes
- Preparing monthly budget for management reporting, perform a monthly comparison with actual and seek explanations from all line managers
- Analyzed credit and transaction risks on applications from Corporate Banking Segment and make appropriate recommendations to senior management
- Ensured adherence to budget cost and any variances are explained
- Updated all profit &loss, and balance sheet monthly schedules for audit purposes
- Extracted monthly trial balance, profit & loss account, and the balance sheet for the head office, and customize the reports to suit management requirements
- Monitored exchange rates on the money market and ensure the company gets the most competitive rates in all foreign currency transactions
- Prepared letters of credit with the bankers for overseas purchases
- Negotiated for forward contracts on behalf of the company for overseas purchases worth 4 to 6 million
- Reported on company’s financial performance at the monthly board meeting
- Monitored the Purchase Ledger and the Sales ledger to ensure correct postings by the accountants
- Liaised with the company bankers and ensured that the company gets competitive exchange rates for all foreign currency transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting
- Must be a CPA (K) holder
- 8-10 years of accounting experience with at least 4 in a senior position
- Must have experience in the horticulture industry
