Infrastructure
Administrator
Reporting
to the ICT Director, the successful candidate manage and support existing ICT
Infrastructure as well as implement new projects as determined by the
university.
This is a
fast paced, results oriented position, covering diverse technologies including
CISCO switches, routers, wireless controllers, access points as well as
Cyberoam UTMs, Linux-based DNS and DHCP servers as well as network security
using various tools and devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain voice and data infrastructure across the university
- Working with a team of administrators troubleshoot and resolve issues involving the LAN
- Manage the Wi-Fi infrastructure across various areas and buildings
- Ensure optimal access to network resources via VPN for vendors, staff and students
- Maintain Linux based DNS and DHCP servers
- Ensure network infrastructure is adequately secured against internal and external attacks
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline service delivery in your section
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering or other relevant course from an accredited university.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Two years’ experience working in mature LAN environments where several of the above technologies have been deployed
