Role Overview:

This holder of this position will carry out accounting duties under the supervision and direction of the Chief Financial Controller

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards;
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements;
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice;
  • Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts;
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs;
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology or ERP system;
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for Anchor Group of Companies.
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances;
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and  recording entries;
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions;
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
  • Disburse petty cash by recording entry and  verifying documentation;
  • Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices;
  • Perform any other accounts receivables or payable duties as requested by management from time to time.

Person specifications
  • At least CPA II with over 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • A degree or diploma in  management will be an added advantage;
  • A mature person aged above 25 years with a self-driven disposition and high levels of responsibility;
  • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels;
  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail;
  • Competence in Microsoft Office products, XL and accounting software programmes;
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data
  • Good  team player skills as well as the ability to communicate clearly and courteously to all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to multi task and handle several issues simultaneously;
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to handle high level pressure and still remain calm and focused on the goal;

Sales and Marketing Executives – Anchor Depot Nairobi (Anchor Millers & New Age Developers Limited)

Job Location: Nairobi region
Job role/overview: 

To carry out continuous prospecting and sales to ensure uptake, revenue growth and increased market share for the brands stocked at the Nairobi Anchor group depots. Of importance is meeting and exceeding set sales targets in their territory.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Conducting sales and prospecting activities to prospective and existing customers;
  • Preparing, maintaining and updating a database of clients for continuous sales engagement;
  • Introducing and explaining the products  to clients wholesale and retail  outlets;
  • Preparing and presenting daily, weekly and monthly sales reports for the territory under their control;
  • Implementing the sales and marketing plan for the brands under the depot in consultation with the depot manager;
  • Seeking for and implementing new sales and marketing strategies to increase sales volumes;
  • Taking and translating customer orders for requisitions in the depot;
  • liaising with store owners to ensure regular feedback and continuous updates on the market requirements and trends;

Location: Mobile across major towns in the Mount Kenya Region

Job Role: 

To carry out continuous prospecting and sales to ensure uptake, revenue growth and increased market share for GM Kariuki Hardware products.

They will anticipate competitor tactics and generate leads for bulk orders from small hardware’s, contractors, institutions and developers. They will be expected to meet and exceed set sales targets in their territory.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting sales and prospecting activities to prospective and existing customers;
  • Preparing, maintaining and updating a database of clients for continuous sales engagement;
  • Introducing and explaining the products  to clients for wholesale and retail  hardware outlets;

Sales and Accounts Officer – New Age Developers Company Ltd (NADC)

Location: Juba Depot, South Sudan
Number of Positions – 1
Role overview: 

The role has a dual sales and accounting role. The role of the holder will be to carry out continuous prospecting and business development to ensure uptake, revenue growth and increased market share for the company’s range of product offerings in the whole of South Sudan and carry out basic accounting and book keeping duties for the depot operations.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and implementing the Sales and Marketing plan for NADC South Sudan depot;
  • Developing and implementing new sales and marketing strategies to increase sales in the vast market;
  • Initiating and overseeing special promotions to push the brand  in the market;
  • Negotiating for new contracts with developers and construction companies for the supply of materials;
  • Seeking new opportunities in the booming construction sector and netting in new clients with good offers;
  • Liaising with the Head Office in Kenya to raise orders for the South Sudan Depot;
  • Making sales presentations to prospective clients in the public, private and NGO sector;

  • Willingness to relocate to South Sudan a requirement;                              
  • Resilient person aged between the aged of 25 - 40 years;
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have Proficiency in basic computer software applications;
  • Self-driven and able to work independently with minimum supervision;
  • Dynamic, Innovative and Creative person who is solution oriented;
  • Up to date with developments and trends in the building and construction industry/sector.
