Job Summary

Reporting to the Head Cook, the person shall be involved in preparation and production of high quality food that meet the desired customer satisfaction.

Job Description:
  • Working with the Head cook to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special customer needs
  • Preparation and production of high quality food that meets the desired customer satisfaction.
  • Provision of efficient service of food orders and as per specifications.
  • Preparing and cooking food in adherence to standard recipes and menu given by the Head Cook.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety at work.
  • To account for all production resources provided by the Head cook and issued from the stores.
  • Proper handling and use of kitchen equipment as provided for by the Head cook and the Manufacturer.
  • Provision of world class customer service to the customers.
  • Any other duty assigned by the head cook.

Job Specification
  • Certificate in food production from a recognized Institution
  • Possess minimum of two years   practical culinary experience in a 3 or 4 star hotel/restaurant
  • Able to work long hours
  • Computer literate
  • Good food  presentation skills
  • Innovative.
  • KCSE C-

Waiter/Waitress: UNES/ARZ/W/03/14

(Two Positions) (Casuals)
Reports to the Food and Beverage Supervisor

Job Description:
  • Receiving customers and providing timely service of food and beverage
  • Maximizing sales  and achieving targets set by the supervisor
  • Taking food and beverage orders and service of meals to customers.
  • Providing product information to customers on menu items,  cooking methods and  ingredients making recommendations upon request
  • Providing excellent customer service and reporting customer concerns/complaints to supervisors for action.
  • Accounting for crockery and equipment used in the restaurant and outside catering services
  • Bill settlement
  • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor      

Job Specification
  • Certificate in food and beverage &sales from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience as a waiter/waitress in a  3 or 4  star restaurant or hotel
  • Good interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Up selling skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer literate
  • KCSE C-
  • Ability to work under pressure& long hours

Stores Assistant: UNES/ARZ/STA /03/14

(One Position) – (3 Months’ Contract)

Reports to the Storekeeper

Job Description:
  • Receiving of goods as per the User/LPO specifications.
  • Processing of Internal Stores Requisitions as requested by users
  • Raising Purchase Requisitions for replenishment of stock and forward the same to procurement for the items to be procured.
  • Ensuring the stores are properly cleaned and arranged.
  • Verifying and inspecting goods for conformity to appropriate purchase orders.
  • Determine reorders levels to ensure efficiency is always maintained.
  • Proper maintenance of stores records and security.
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Storekeeper.

Job Specification
  • Certificate in Purchasing and Supplies/Stores Management from a recognized institution preferably from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in busy stores.
  • Ability to work under pressure and for long hours without supervision.
  • Knowledge of Public Procurement rules and regulations
  • Computer literate
  • Conversant with food stores is an added advantage.
  • KCSE C (Plain)

Steward: UNES/ARZ/ST/03/14

(Two Positions) (Casuals)

Reports to the Head cook

Job Description:
  • To maintain general cleanliness of the kitchen floor and external surfaces
  • To clean and dry kitchen cooking pots used for food production.
  • To clean and dry kitchen cooking crockery and cutlery used for food production.
  • To store the crockery in the appropriate places after cleaning.
  • Collecting and disposing of kitchen waste.
  • To record all crockery and cutlery issued and returned from the crockery store to various staff and give a report to the head cook on status quo.
  • Any other duty given by your supervisor

Job specifications.
  • KCSE D+
  • Ability to work   for long hours and under pressure
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning services is preferred
