Intern Career Opportunity

An independent communications consultant is looking for a dynamic, focused and hands-on Communications Intern to mentor and expose to the job market through engagement in a number of ongoing and upcoming consultancy assignments across the East Africa region.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Lead Consultant, the Communications Intern will carry out the following tasks:
  • Assist the lead consultant in the day-to-day execution of contracted assignments in strict compliance with contractual obligations
  • Develop and maintain promotional literature aimed at advancing the business prospects of the lead consultant 
  • Assist the lead consultant in the preparation of client pitches
  • Develop and execute a robust social media strategy and other online marketing tools in consistency with the lead consultant’s business development and growth strategy
  • Assist the lead consultant in strengthening the business brand and image
  • Generate and maintain a database of current and prospective clients, with a clear engagement strategy for each   

Ideal Candidate

Applicants with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
  • Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations; or
  • Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism
  • Some relevant practical experience in the field of study will be an added advantage
