Summary: Our client is a holding company of
several subsidiary companies involved in flour milling, animal feeds among
others.
Our client
is looking to fill the position of a Plant Accountant who will be responsible for
managing plant finance operations in line with company policies and regulations
to ensure cost minimization and good controls in the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Plant Reporting Package (PRP) and Cost accounting reports for plant management and Head office staff
- Ensure compliance and adherence to internal controls and make recommendations on areas of potential improvement.
- Ensure sufficient funds (floats) at the plant required for efficient running of operations.
- Organize & facilitate data necessary for preparation of plant budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure timely & accurate supplier’s payments.
- Ensure draft audit reports are conclusively responded to and agreed recommendations implemented.
- Ensure Continual Improvements designated initiatives are implemented leading to continual productivity
- Oversee work performance of staff including their deployment, learning and career development in line with company policy.
Qualification and Experience
- Graduate in Accounting, Business or related field
- Fully qualified accountant (CPA K or ACCA)
- Minimum five (5) years’ relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of ERP Module preferably Baan
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suites including advanced Excel
