A leading property developer in Nairobi is seeking to fill the positions listed below:


Quantity Surveyor

2 Positions

Duties and responsibilities
  • Preparation of cost estimates, Bill of quantities; Monthly valuation on site; taking site measurements
  • undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
  •  Evaluation of quotations prior to tenders/orders;
  • Cost update on on-going projects
  • Coordinate ongoing daily or weekly take off site measurements of various projects from the contract bill of quantities;
  • Preparation of Contractual documents, Sub- Contract Agreements/Documents
  • performing risk and value management and cost control
  • preparing and analyzing costing’s for tenders
  • Liaise with relevant parties in sourcing for relevant information/details required for the ongoing projects

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree or or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Be a registered with the board of registration of architects & quantity surveyors of Kenya as a QS.
  • At least (3) three years experience as a quantity Surveyor
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of quantity surveying functions.
  • Adequate experience in preparing progress reports and charts

Architect

2 Positions

1. Team Player able to adequately deliver given tasks in a timely manner under minimum supervision

2. Have good skills in giving proper project reports and coordination of other attached project consultants.

3. Be a high achiever looking to surpass set targets and open to learning new skills and able to work under tight deadlines.

(ii) Architectural Visualization & Animation Artist & Graphic Designer

Academic and professional Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Recognized university or College
  • Proficiency 3D Studio Max & V-ray for modeling and Visualization
  • Proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Knowledge/Experience in Architectural or interior design will be an added advantage
  • Be a registered architect with BORAQS.
  • Minimum of 1 Year post registration experience
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD 14 (especially BIM )and above a must

Clerk of Works

1 Position

Key Responsibilities
  • Confirming work measurement and keeping records
  • Interpreting contract documents on site – drawings and BOQs
  • Assessing progress of work to keep in pace with the contract programme
  • Monitoring quality of work, cost and timely completion of the project
  • Record all daily site activities and ensure general quality control
  • Ensure that specifications for all materials conform to those prescribed in the building document, contract and agreement for the works
  • Inspect and qualify all materials before utilization.   
  • Ensure that no material deviation to the works are affected on the site except approved by the architect
  • Write monthly reports of sites and document the building progress through progress photographs

Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies:-
  • Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or Quantity Surveying.
  • At least 3 years experience as a clerk of works in a busy construction site.
  • Experience in commercial, office and high-rise buildings is preferred
  • Knowledge and application of MS Office and Excel is a must
  • Be conversant with the relevant building regulations/ policies /statutes/safety and health requirements as stipulated by the relevant statutory /professional improving/licensing authorities

Structural Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all site works are of good quality and are in compliance with the contract drawings, specifications and approved drawings.
  • Assist the Project Engineer in technical matters assigned.
  • Carry out value engineering works where possible and advise the Project Manager and Civil/Structural Engineer from time to time
  • Provide civil/structural design solutions to minor works on site including temporary works to facilitate construction works on site

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from a recognized university.
  • Not less than 3 years of experience
  • Experience in commercial, office and high-rise buildings is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer aided design software
  • Knowledge and application of engineering software, including AutoCAD
  • Knowledge and application of MS Office and Excel is a must
  • Ability to carry out site surveys using geo-informatic data acquisition systems (total stations) would be an advantage.
  • Have knowledge of tender and contract documentation and administration.
  • Must possess good Communication and report writing skills
