Purpose of the Job

The Training Manager will be responsible for improving performance efficiencies across the organization by providing need-based training in technical, managerial, and soft-skills and improving employee motivation levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for accurately measuring all aspects of staff training and development
  • Design training packages where required by the business through demonstrating creative and tailored approach
  • Liaise with line managers to establish training needs and monitor personal development
  • Develop the section as a strategic business unit by developing new courses, workshops.
  • Formulate training policies and procedures that ensure sound management of scarce resources and enhance the company's financial viability.
  • Budget and control sectional expenditure
  • Ensure that the training programmes are relevant to the customers/market.
  • Facilitate the provision of high standards of training
  • Ensure that recruits and applicants admission procedures are adhered to and that high standards of training and recruits or staff welfare during training period are maintained.
  • Co-ordinate research, consultancy and evaluate the training programmes offered.
  • Drive the performance management program in line with the company’s overall objectives

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor Degree preferably in human resources or behavioural science and a higher diploma in HR; MBA would be an added advantage
  • Accreditation with an international Psychometric Body such as MBTI
  • Requires at least 5 years experience in a similar position
  • Good exposure to attitudinal training
  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company.
  • Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
  • Excellent business acumen, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills with sound leadership ability
