Technical Advisor Job in Kenya

Summary: Urysia ltd is the holder of the franchise for Peugeot in Kenya and has over the last two years experienced tremendous growth with key highlights being: the commissioning of the Bunyala road branch, which is the largest in Africa and meets international standards; and regaining the confidence of the customers in your quality and level of service delivery.

Urysia Ltd is looking at expansion through the acquisition of additional franchises which will see the company grow its presence in the passenger segment, trucks, prime movers and motor cycles (Boda bodas) as well as cementing its presence countrywide with operations in the 47 counties, primarily driven by the motor cycle segment.

Urysia Ltd is looking to hire a Technical Advisor.

In this position, you will take responsibility for technical training and continual knowledge updating for workshop personnel.

You will also collaborate with operational employees when jobs are technically complex, or by helping them when they meet with difficulties, ensure that the work they perform is correctly carried out and is of high quality so as to help optimise customer satisfaction and the profitability of the After-Sales activity

Key Responsibilities
  • Draw up the technical-training plan in collaboration with the After-Market Manager and the Workshop Foremen
  • Improve and update his technical knowledge through regular consultation of the manufacturer’s information sources
  • Assist operational employees who are encountering difficulty in performing their mechanical or electrical work, and ensure that the manufacturer’s methods are applied
  • Explain to the employees how workshop equipment should be used
  • In accordance with the policy defined by the country, provide all personnel with additional training in new products and systems, using the training tools provided by the manufacturer
  • Examine, test and conduct diagnosis of vehicles using the appropriate equipment and provide the customer with technical advice
  • Help define needs in terms of tools and equipment, and ensure that resources are used in a rational manner
  • Manage all technical documents
  • Make technical documentation available to users by filing it on the basis of the type of information it contains or of the activities of the people concerned
  • Transmit pertinent technical information to the Manufacturer using current procedures

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • At least a diploma in automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is a must. A bachelors degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • At least 1 year experience in a comparable position will be an added advantage.
  • Good Customer Focus and ability to understand and resolve customer issues whether internal or external
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team, engage and builds relationships
  • Adaptive to new technology
