About the job
We are looking to hire a Mechanical/Electrical engineer who will take on various projects assigned to him/her.
The successful applicant will be required to manage their own project portfolio, updating their manager on each project as required. You will be expected to deliver punctually and at utmost quality.
The job will entail site visits, meetings and supervisions from time to time.
You will be required to be responsive to client needs and to possess the ability to translate these needs into technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantity.
Some projects may be out of town or country and you will be required to avail yourself, as far as is reasonably possible, to attend to these promptly and regularly.
You will play a pivotal role in managing our partners who include project managers, architects, contractors and service providers: ensuring that you achieve our goal of delivering value to the client whereas being mindful of the interests of, and our relationship with, our partners.
You will work closely with the team to ensure overall business success and collective development of internal skill sets.
Key responsibilities
- Design Electrical/Mechanical
systems and layouts
- Prepare schedules of fittings
and Bills of Quantity
- Attend and participate in
project meetings and inspections
- Supervision and oversight of
project installations and works
- Clear and prompt communication
with project team members, clients and partners
- Regularly update and review
project progress with management
- Delivery of innovative
solutions to client challenges
- Ensure client needs are met and
that our role in a project is carried out to their satisfaction
- Develop an understanding of
relevant sectors
- Keep up-to-date with
developments and innovations within those sectors
- Contribute to overall team
development of scientific and technological competence and its
professional standards.
Requirements
- At least 3 years' experience in
the industry
- A Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft
Office Applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
- Well organized with ability to
multi-task and prioritize in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Results driven and achievement
