Chief Security Officer

Job Summary:

Responsible for developing proactive security strategies to protect and secure company employees, assets and brand.

Identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining corporate security processes, protocols and programs aimed at reducing risk, responding to incidents and limiting exposure of employees and company assets.

Overseeing the security and safety of employees, facilities, electronic and biological assets in the company and sugar cane in the outgrower zones.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Security Officer will have the following responsibilities;
  • Coordination of the activities of the Security Services section
  • Overseeing budget planning and expenditure control for the section
  • Spearheading investigations into and report on security incidents/breaches
  • Securing the company’s biological assets through appropriate and cost-effective anti-cane poaching initiatives
  • Developing security systems and solutions, strategies and initiatives (personnel, physical, systems and assets
  • Carrying out risk assessment programs and security audits to assess the MSC’s security systems’ robustness.
  • Managing the relationship withcontracted security services providers at the head office and all operating sites
  • Managing corporate Information Security systems to assure business continuity

  • Knowledge and experience in Enterprise Resource Planning and Security Management Information systems

  • Be a team player and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work under pressure and odd hours.

Key Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Computer Sciences, or Degree in Social Sciences with a Diploma in Criminology, Security Management or a related field.
  • Independent, mature, application of investigative experience and skill, 7-10 years’ experience in Law Enforcementor Military and Corporate Security, with experience in conducting criminal investigations, interviewing, and decision making are preferred.
  • Good understanding of computer systems and information security
  • High standards of personal integrity.
