Chief Human Resource Officer

Reporting to the business Chief Executive, the Chief Human Resource Officer position will be directly in charge of leading and managing the Human Resource Strategy design and progressive implementation across the East and Central Africa Region while partnering with leadership team to drive overall business vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Developing and implementing the HR strategy to meet the business objectives and provide competitive edge
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring HR policies and procedures to enhance business and individual performance while ensuring compliance
  • Leading and Implementing the Management Development programs that attracts, nurtures and retains talent
  • Ensuring a high performance culture is embedded in the organization to meet the business objectives and targets
  • Developing and leading human resource capacity building initiatives to enhance performance and build skills and competencies in the organization
  • Developing and leading manpower planning; Talent flow, Career and Succession plans that ensures individual growth and availability of talent for both current and future needs of the organization
  • Leading and monitoring employee relations and employee welfare to build a conducive work environment in the Company
  • Leading the planning and implementation of change initiatives and programmes
  • Leading and managing reward to ensure reward systems are in place to deliver competitiveness and cost effectiveness in order to motivate and retain talent
  • Leading and managing payroll, workforce administration, Human Resource Information system ( HRIS) implementation through policies, processes and procedures to ensure highest level of HR service delivery
  • Lead in the engagement and management of Third Party HR service providers including developing the Service Level Agreement in line with the company policy and objectives
  • Preparing, monitoring and reporting the HR department budgetary allocation
  • Developing, training, motivating and evaluating staff to achieve highest levels of performance
  • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking best practices in management

Academic & professional qualifications, experience
  • Bachelors’ Degree, MBA desirable, Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Not less than 5 years of active relevant experience in senior management with a background in leading HR strategy formulation and execution, talent management, employee relations and managing a workforce of more than 500 staff
  • Working knowledge of HRIMS systems including sound knowledge and experience in payroll processes and systems
