ICRC, Toyota, Unilever, British American Tobacco and Nestle Foods.

Job Purpose
This position provides leadership to IT infrastructure and applications development and management activities and works closely with the ART department to ensure the optimal functionality of electronic applications and system software.
The
position holder is expected to support product development and innovation
through the optimisation of software across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the
development and implementation of an IT strategy with input and
participation from users.
- Take a lead role
in innovation to ensure that IT supports productivity growth, improved
efficiency and the introduction of new products
- Ensure that the
organization’s information is secure through effective IT security and
effective access control
- Take a leading
role in the development/upgrade of an integrated website that meets
international standards and supports e- commerce across Africa
- Develop and
optimise applications to ensure quality linkages and compatibility with
the SAP system.
- To manage the
art / creative department to ensure work output, efficiency and creativity
is optimised
- Ensure software
and equipment including large format Digital Printers used are in full
working order
- Support
equipment operators to troubleshoot and resolve software/ electronics
problems directly or with online support from suppliers
- Lead application
development efforts, originating new concepts/software that meet business
needs and support a positive end-user experience
- Manage the IT
budget, monitor and control departmental expenditure to ensure spending is
within budget.
- Design and
implement short and long-term plans to ensure that physical infrastructure
capacity meets existing and future requirements
- Develop and
maintain a disaster recovery plan
- Liaise with
system vendors for the development and implementation of new systems
- Oversee
maintenance of hardware.
- Keep abreast of
Industry dynamics and be able to take advantage of new technology to
ensure that IT equipment and processes are in line with industry best
practice
Qualification
And Competencies
- Bachelor of
Science in Computer Science/Information Management.
- At least 7
years hands on experience in the IT industry
- Experience in
handling complex projects
- Systems and
applications optimization skills
- Experience in IT
System analysis, design, programming, installation and customization
including integrated Software programmes
- Excellent
leadership and people management skills.
- Good corporate
profile excellent customer and business development skill
- Excellent
communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and
problem-solving skills.
- Ability to
prioritize work
- Ability to work
and negotiate with vendors and other service providers
