agitates the provision of capacity building in economic policy in Francophone
and Anglophone African countries through provision of support in the areas of
policy research and training.

AERC is seeking to recruit a suitable individual to fill the following position:
Programme Assistant
The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and programmatic support services for effective and efficient programme administration.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in
liaison with collaborators and other network members and respond to
all enquiries on programme activities;
- Provide support
in preparation of grant letters, contracts, reports, and assist in the
follow up of donor agreements as required;
- Provide support
in processing travel documentation as required;
- Consolidate
supporting documentation for payment processing and assist in preparation
of payments;
- Provide
assistance in processing scholarship applications offered by AERC as well
as from targeted donors for Msc, PhD, internships, staff exchanges and any
other targeted activity.
- Assist in
verification of various program grantees financial reports and follow up
of outstanding narrative and financial reports.
- Records
Management including maintenance of up to date records of all projects,
program grantee files proposals and reports;
- Maintain and
update a database of Msc and PhD students in the pipeline, contacts of
persons and institutions within the programme network;
- Provide
administrative and logistical support in the preparation of meetings and
workshops;
- Perform any
other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements:
- At least
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline ;
- Basic accounting
knowledge (CPA 1 would be an added advantage);
- Experience in
organizing workshops and other events;
- At least three
years relevant experience in a similar function;
- Good
interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience in
standard office software, such as MS Office Word and Excel
