Human Resource Manager

Our
client is a well established group of companies that provide various services
including; Aviation Services, Petroleum Distribution Services, Cargo and
Movement Services, Fleet Management, ICT Services, Warehouse Services, Laundry
Services and Catering Services.
The purpose of this job is to maintain and enhance the groups’ human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices in accordance to the quality standard that the organization has been awarded.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain the
work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all
positions
- Prepare new
employee for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and
training programs
- Ensure planning,
monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to
coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with
employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling
employees and supervisors
- Ensure legal
compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource
federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining
records; representing the organization at hearings
- Monitor and
ensure that all statutory and benefits’ deductions and remittances are
processed and submitted on time
- Maintain
management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource
policies and procedures that are in compliance with the Kenya Labour Laws
and the ISO standards of the company
- Maintain
historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval
system; keeping past and current records
- Maintain human
resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Maintain human
resource staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees;
planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Contribute to
team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ensure that all
human resource policies are well documented
- Assist the
different companies that constitute the group to coordinate and streamline
their staffing function
- Provide HR
support to the various organizations in the group as and when required
Educational
requirements
- Bachelors Degree
in Human Resource Management
- Be certified by
or be a member of Institute of Human Resource Management
- 7years
progressive HR experience
- At least 2
years experience in a Management position
- Thorough
understanding of Current Labour and Employment Laws
- Computer
literate
- Experience in
using ERP /HRIS
- Good leadership,
counselling skills and be compassionate
- Good
communication skills both written and oral; including good documentation
skills
- Good interpersonal
skills
- Good
organization and planning skills
- High attention
to detail
- High level of
integrity and good work ethics
- Able to work
well in a team
- Be result
oriented and have initiative
