Can Making Line Leaders
Key Result Areas:-
- Ensure effective
maintenance is carried out on assigned Canline equipment, sound
adjustments/setting, and efficient/safe operation to achieve Production,
Safety & Quality targets.
- Ensure
corrective/preventative maintenance of equipment in the plant is carried
out speedily and efficiently.
- Co-ordinate
availability of materials as per production plan.
- Ensure all
reports, KPI boards; quality records, etc. are kept accurate &
up-to-date.
- Carry out
internal training as required by training matrix.
- Carry out line
changeovers as required and in line with SMED targets.
- Maintain the
section’s housekeeping and hygiene levels.
- Ensuring
Development of existing systems to achieve continuous improvement for
identified KPIs.
The
Person:-
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:-
- O-Level (KCSE
Mean Grade C+ Plus or above).
- A Diploma in
Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- At least
10-years experience in Can-making.
- Aged between 35
– 45 years.
Can Making Mechanic/Line Assistants
Key Result Areas:-
- Carry out
pre-start up inspection on the body maker at start of shift/production as
specified.
- Carry out the
necessary weld assessment checks on the body maker before start of
production.
- Continuous
assessment of weld quality parameters during production and maintenance of
a written record of the same.
- Do machine
changeover in a professional and timely manner in conformance with best
practices.
- Ensure all
necessary records, reports and KPI’s are kept accurate and update.
- Carry out
corrective and preventive maintenance on the machines and maintain
records.
- Maintain tools
and setting gauges /equipment.
- Development and
improvement of KPI’s.
- Communicate at
all times with team on all relevant issue in the process of continuous
improvement.
- Ensure
compliance to all safety, environmental, housekeeping, hygiene health and
social issues.
The
Person:-

- O-level (KCSE

- Certificate in
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Computer skills.
- At least 6
months experience.
- Aged between 27
and 35 years.
Slitter Operators
Key Result Areas:-
- Carry out
pre-start up inspection on the slitter at start of shift/production as
specified.
- Carry out the
necessary slitter assessment checks before start of production.
- Continuous
assessment of blank quality parameters during production and maintenance
of a written record of the same.
- Continuously
feed blanks into the body maker.
- Do machine
changeover in a professional and timely manner in conformance with best
practices.
- Ensure machine
runs to its best process capability and maintain and monitor records of
the same.
- Ensure all
necessary records, reports and KPI’s are kept accurate and updated.
- Carry out
corrective and preventive maintenance on the machines and maintain
records.
- Maintain tools

production.
- Continuous
assessment of finished can quality parameters during production and
maintenance of a written record of the same.
- Continuously
feed ends into the Flanger/Beader/Seamer and constantly checking end
quality.
- Do machine
changeover in a professional and timely manner in conformance with best
practices. This includes the tester.
- Ensure machine
runs to its best process capability and maintain and monitor records of
the same.
- Ensure all
necessary records, reports and KPI’s are kept accurate and updated.
- Carry out
corrective and preventive maintenance on the machine and maintain records.
- Maintain tools
and setting gauges/equipment.
- Development and

feeds into machines are correct and conform to requirements.
- Ensure all
electrical systems and parameters are set up correctly.
- Assist with all
changeovers to ensure all interlocks, fails safes, proximity sensors and
any other electrical equipment is handled with care and performs as
required.
- Ensure equipment
is not “overridden” and report any such malpractices for immediate
corrective action.
- Carry out
corrective and preventive maintenance on the machine and maintain records.
- Development and
improvement of KPI’s.
- Communicate at
all times with team on all relevant issues in the process of continuous
improvement.
- Ensure
compliance to all safety, environmental, housekeeping, hygiene health and
social issues.
The
Person:-
- O-level (KCSE
Mean grade C+ Plus or above).
- Diploma in
Electronics or Control Instrumentation.
- Computer
literate.
- At least 3 Years
experience.
- Aged between 25
and 35 years.
Can Making Line Maintenance Mechanic
Key Result Areas:-
- Ensure all
machines are running correctly and conform to requirements.
- Overhaul of
machine/machine units to manufacturer’s specification.
- Machining/fabrication
of all mechanic components required to run the lines.
- Prepare stores
requisition for standard components and receives the materials from
stores.
- Assist with all
changeovers to ensure all equipment is handled with care and performs as
required.
- Ensure equipment
is not “override” and report any such malpractices for immediate
corrective action.
- Carry out
corrective and preventive maintenance on the machine and maintain records.
- Development and
improvement of KPI’s.
- Communicate at
all times with team on all relevant issues in the process of continuous
improvement.
- Ensure
compliance to all safety, environmental, housekeeping, hygiene health and
social issues.
The
Person:-
- O-level (KCSE
Mean grade C+ Plus or above).
- Diploma in
Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option).
- Computer
literate.
- At least 3 Years
experience.
- Aged between 25
and 35 years.
Forklift Operators
Key Result Areas:-
- Carry out
pre-start checks on the Fork Lift to ensure it is in good and safe working
condition.
- Load and
off-load empty cans and materials.
- Arrange pallets
in the storage bay.
- Transport and
supply materials from storage to slitter lines per production targets.
- Transport
finished product from palletizer to storage.
- Transport scrap
materials to storage area and stuff the same on trucks as necessary.
- Ensure safe
custody of forklift in possession.
- Ensure sound
maintenance and cleanliness of the fork lift.
- Participate in
maintenance work as and when required.
- Prepare
hand-over and other reports as necessary
- Participate in
stocktaking.
- Observe safety
procedures while driving and operating the fork lift.
The
Person:-
- O-level (KCSE
Mean grade C- Minus or above).
- Driving License
class BCE and special class (Fork Lift) stamp.
- Fork Lift
operator’s certificate from a DOHSS recognized institution.
- Certificate of
Good Conduct.
- At least 2 Years
experience.
- Aged between 25
and 35 years.
