Business Development Executive
Summary
Established in the early 1980s, our client has evolved one of the fastest growing, fully integrated manufacturers of FMCG products in Sub Saharan Africa.
The
company has interests in agriculture, property development and supply chain
management.
To
ensure uninterrupted flow of raw materials, it runs a fully-fledged clearing,
forwarding, and total logistics solution setup in Mombasa.
The
company is looking for talented, mature, self-starters to fill the Business
Development Executive position in its Uganda based operations.
Purpose of the job:
Purpose of the job:
Reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager, the Business Development Executive will be expected to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships for the company’s animal feed supplements in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new
markets for produced animal feeds.
- Solicit orders
from clients and ensure that deliveries are made.
- Put in place
mechanisms to ensure that the set targets are achieved.
- Locate or
propose potential business deals by contacting potential business partners
and exploring opportunities.
- Prepare monthly
sales projections for the animal feeds.
- Provide service
support to clients.
- Review actual
sales against projections and investigate variations.
- Analyze the
trends of the sales made on a monthly basis.
- Screen potential
business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements,
potential, financial implication and evaluating options in line with
company priorities.
Skills
and competencies
- Bachelor’s degree
in Animal Nutrition/ Science or Agriculture or its equivalent.
- Additional
qualification in sales and marketing would be an added advantage
- 4 years of
relevant experience is required in selling and marketing of animal feed
supplements.
- Must have a full
understanding of the market dynamics of animal food supplements
- Ability to work
independently in carrying out assignments to completion
- Effective verbal
and written communication.
- Professional
personal presentation
- Customer service
orientation skills.
- Decision making
skills is required.
