Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) is a state funded agency under the Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture, established by an Act of Parliament Cap 225 of the Laws of Kenya (1965) mandated to promote, establish, equip, manage, maintain and develop libraries in Kenya. 

It has a network of 59 branch libraries in different parts of country.
 
Its mission is to “enable access to information for knowledge and transformation of livelihoods”.
 
KNLS seeks to recruit a talented, innovative, result-oriented, professionally qualified and experienced individual to fill the vacant position of Senior Resource Mobilization Officer I at its headquarters, Nairobi.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Director for the following duties and responsibilities:
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define and develop fund raising strategy for knls
  • Formulate and implement resource mobilization strategy and plans
  • Develop new funding initiatives to ensure resources are available to support programs
  • Set resource mobilization targets
  • Prepare departmental annual budgets
  • Develop proposals to secure resources and grants from various potential development partners.
  • Liaise with development partners on project/grants management
  • Prepare materials on fundraising campaigns
  • Provide coaching and training on resource mobilization and grants management to staff in knls
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation systems for development partners funded programmes and projects
  • Prepare timely periodic reports to the Board and the development partners.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a holder of a Degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution
  • A Masters degree in Entrepreneurship/Project Management will be an added advantage
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in resource mobilization/ fundraising fund raising for programmes and projects.
  • Proficiency in project management systems.
