Part-Time Dentists and Dental Assistant Job in Kenya


Our client is a dental practice based in Nairobi, and is looking for a Part-time Dentist and a Dental Assistant.

Part time dentist is typically responsible for:

  • educating patients on oral healthcare;
  • examining teeth and diagnosing patients' dental conditions by using tools such as x-rays;
  • assessing treatment options and agreeing treatment plans with patients;
  • carrying out agreed clinical treatments such as restoring teeth affected by decay and treating gum disease;
  • maintaining patients' dental records;
  • keeping abreast of new developments through structured continuing professional development
  • marketing services to potential clients.
Requirements: Bachelor of Dental Surgery and at least 1-2 years’ experience

Dental assistant is typically responsible for:
  • Maintains supplies and equipment (stocks and replenishes supplies)
  • Monitors Inventory
  • Recording data on patient’s record or chart as directed DDS
  • Patient and community education on oral health (extra-oral)
  • Patient reception and dismissal
  • Appointment book control and maintain recall system
  • Block out times for reserved emergency and new appointments
  • Maintaining and controlling business area
  • Handle all incoming calls promptly and efficiently
  • Patient follow-up treatment calls
  • Public relations
  • Bookkeeping
  • Managing receivables and payables
  • Maintaining file system
  • Ordering and receiving supplies
  • Preparation of the treatment/clinical area
  • Cleaning and Sterilization of instruments and handpieces
Requirements:
  • Must be reliable, work well with others, and have good manual dexterity.
  • Previous Experience in a dental practice is also required
