The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is re-organizing its processes, structures and systems and strives to enhance its organizational performance and improve the quality of services provided to its members.
 
The Fund seeks to recruit oriented professionals with drive, vision, passion and enthusiasm to fill the following vacant positions:-

General Manager (Finance & Investments)


Reporting to the CEO/Managing Trustee, the jobholder will be responsible for formulating and co-ordinating implementation of finance and investments strategies to ensure maximum return on member contributions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing overall leadership of the Finance and Investment functions, managing the teams to achieve set targets, goals and objectives
  • Providing leadership in the development and implementation of the Division’s strategy and operational plans
  • Playing a key role in the identification and implementation of the Fund’s strategic investment objectives
  • Spearheading the development of the Fund’s investment guidelines and policies and directing implementation of the same
  • Effectively managing the finance and investment portfolio and formulating strategies to maximize returns on member funds
  • Ensuring the strategic operating plans and budgets for the departments within the Division are developed and in line with the Fund’s overall long term and short term strategy
  • Ensuring the appropriate controls, systems and procedures are in place and any weaknesses noted are addressed on a timely basis
  • Oversee the preparation of Annual Plans, budgets and financial statements.
  • Develop, implement and continuously review the organizations’ financial and investments policies, ensure compliance and safeguard the financial assets of the organization.
The Ideal Position Holder must have
  • A Masters Degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of ten years senior management experience preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA (K), ACA/ACCA, ACMA or equivalent
  • Membership to a relevant professional body.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
  • Demonstrate ability to formulate and maintain positive stakeholder relations, and ,
  • Excellent communications skills.
General Manager (Operations)

Reporting to the CEO / Managing Trustee, the job holder will be responsible for leading and ensuring the optimization of day to day operations of the Fund.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing leadership and directing the functions of the following departments: - namely Information Technology, Human Resources, Administration and Procurement.
  • Providing leadership in the development of the Division’s strategy and operational plans
  • Budgeting for the Division and ensuring adherence.
  • Providing timely reports to the Board on the implementation of policies and strategies.
  • Refining HR strategies to meet the Fund’s strategic objectives and ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Developing and maintaining sound HR policies and systems to foster a modern management culture
  • Over-see the development, implementation and use of technology in the organization.
  • Maintaining the organization’s effectiveness by defining, delivering and supporting strategic plans for implementing Information Technology.
  • Over-seeing the provision of administrative support to the organization ; office and assets Management
  • Over-see Compliance to relevant legislation and enhance Internal procurement control systems to ensure adequate and timely supply of required stores and services.
  • Ensuring strategy, operational plans and polices are implemented and putting in place appropriate controls, systems and procedures are in place and any weaknesses noted are addressed on a timely basis.
The Ideal Position Holder must have
  • Masters degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of ten years senior management experience
  • Relevant university degree.
  • Membership to a relevant professional body
  • Ability to manage staff and provide sound leadership
  • Ability to engage and sustain relations with staff and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
