In solidarity with women and people living In poverty and
exclusion; connecting their voices, sharing Ideas, spreading inspiration,
campaigning, advocating and formulating public policy to eradicate
poverty and ensure social justice.
We are present in at least 16 counties across Kenya and link key
international, national and local institutions in favour of the right holders.
Reporting to the Head of Policy and Programmes, we seek to
recruit a Technical Advisor -Women Rights who will be
responsible for leading successful delivery of AAIK CSP Strategic Objective 1
aimed at building the capacity of women and girls from communities living in
poverty and exclusion to gain power to secure their rights through
conceptualizing, designing, mobilizing resources, implementing and reporting on
initiatives under the Strategic Objective.
Based in Nairobi, the incumbent’s key responsibilities will include the following:

- Leading
in designing programmatic and policy initiatives for the advancement of
the achievement of Strategic Objective and Coordinating the successful
implementation of these initiatives
- Enhancing
the visibility of AAIK in CSO initiatives related to the Objective by
initiating
- Generating
evidence both at the national and local levels to guide the Strategic
Objective’s evidence-based campaigns
- Development
of policy positions and undertaking campaign and policy advocacy within
the strategic objective
- Leading
in reporting results of programmatic and policy initiatives under the
Strategic Objective
- Raising
resources for implementing initiatives under the Strategic Objective and
Participating in regular donor round table meetings
- Support
preparation and submission of periodic reports
- Building
capacity and organizing initiatives for building capacity of partners and
staff on various programme and policy areas related to women rights and
- Ensure
regular documentation, promotion of shared learning and ensuring sound
donor communications.

- A
bachelor’s degree in law or other related social sciences from a
recognized University
- A
minimum of seven (7) years post-academic experience in women rights
programme management
- Demonstrable
experience in leading and working within influential coalitions and
networks
- Demonstrable
experience in advocacy and campaigns on women rights
- Demonstrable
experience in building capacity of partners and staff on women rights
- Experience
of managing partnership relationships, and
- Understanding
of different donor requirements and ways of working.

alongside poor people.
