Kenyatta University wishes to recruit qualified and dedicated applicants for vacant positions under the following offices:

The Office of The Deputy Vice - Chancellor
(Finance Planning and Development Division)


Project Manager - Grade 13

Applicants must be holders of Bachelors Degree ¡n Building Economics/Quantity Survey/Construction ManagementlArchitecture/Civil Engineering.

The project manager will be employed within a design and build contract arrangement. He/she will be deployed as the Principal Site-based Representative of the Project Implementation Committee.

Assistant Project Manager - Grade 12( 2 Posts)

Applicants must be holders of a Bachelors Degree in Building Economics/Quantity Survey/Construction Management/Architecture/Civil Engineering.

The Assistant Project Manager will be employed within a design and build contract arrangement
For the positions of Project Manager — Grade 1 3 and Assistant Project Manager — Grade I 2 the following should apply:
  • Registered with the relevant professional body and have a minimum of three (3) years post-registration experience in a project management capacity and all aspects of project planning, development and management
  • Computer literacy and strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft project, and reporting Software programs
  • Demonstrated experience in Personnel Management
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment
  • Post-graduate qualification will be added advantage
Procurement Manager - Grade 13

Applicants must be holders of Master Degree ¡n Business Studies or a related field from a recognized university. 

They must also have a relevant Bachelor Degree and professional qualification in Purchasing and Supplies Management.

They should be registered with the relevant professional body.

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least five (5) years relevant work experience preferably in an institution of Higher Learning
  • Conversant with procurement procedures in public institutions
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
Estates Manager - Grade 12

Applicants must be holders of Bachelors degree in Building Economics or Land Economics or Construction Management/Architecture or Civil Engineering.

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least five (5) years experience in Building Construction or Maintenance Works
  • Wide experience in the Administration of staff, Preparation of Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Materials, Cost Estimates and Supervision of the works
  • Registered by a recognized professional body and a relevant government board
Those with a Masters Degree in the relevant field and three (3) years working experience will have an added advantage.

Assistant Estates Officer - Grade E/F

Applicants must be holders of Bachelors degree in Building Economics/Land Economics/Construction Management) Architecture/Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

In addition applicants must have the following:
  • At least three (3) years experience in Building Construction/Maintenance Works
  • Computer literate
  • Wide experience in the preparation of Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Schedule of materials, Cost Estimates and Supervision of Staff and the works
Candidates with a Higher National Diploma and five (5) years experience will also be considered.

School of Law

Legal Aid Clinic - Programmes Manager

Applicants must be holders of an LLM degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
In addition applicants should have the following:
  • At least four (4) years post-admission experience as an Advocate
  • Interest in listening and working with Kenyans face to face on legal issues
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good managerial skills
  • Good research capability
  • Passion for mentoring Law students in the endeavours of the Legal Aid Clinic
  • Ability to negotiate astutely with potential public of the Legal Aid Clinic
The responsibilities of the Programmes Manager include the following:
  • To manage day to day affairs of the Legal Aid Clinic efficiently and in accordance with the agreed directions of the Management Committee
  • Development of the necessary information, education and communication material (IEC) needed to start off the operations of the Legal Aid Clinic. This includes a handbook of the Legal Aid Clinic, relevant brochures and posters for the benefit of the students and clients of the Legal Aid Clinic 
Terms of Service:

The terms of service for the above include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.

Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
