Job Title: Finance Manager

Role Objective

 
Our Client is an ICT firm specializing in; Audio Visual, Multiuser computing, Unified Communication, Plantronics headsets, Network Solutions and Security Solutions seeks to recruit a finance manager to help in the day to day operations of the Finance Department and will assist with the financial, resource and business management of the company in accordance with company policies, legislative requirements and within budgetary constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities
 

1. Finance management
  • Maintain day-to-day financial control of the service within budget.
  • Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times.
  • Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored, including credit control.
  • Advice on the proper allocation of resources.
  • Take charge of preparation of management accounts
  • Prepare and review detailed budgets for approval by management.
  • Make regular reports to the management on income, expenditure and any variations from budgets.
  • Ensure that all daily and weekly reporting obligations are met.
  • Direct the organization’s financial goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Oversee the investment of funds and manage associated risks.
  • Responsible for overseeing cash management activities; execute capital-raising strategies to support the firm’s expansion.
  • Responsible for developing and managing the Accounts, Stores and Purchasing Departments under the Finance Department.
  • Monitor and ensure the collections of present and past-due accounts.
  • Monitor and control the flow of cash receipts and disbursements to meet the business and investment needs of the firm.
2. Planning and development
  • Responsible for overall management and delivery of the business plan.
  • Responsible for business planning for the Accounts, Stores and Purchasing Departments in line with the company’s vision and Mission.
  • In conjunction with the management, draft, monitor and assess the business and development plan.  
  • Assess options for coordinating the activities, procedures and systems so as to promote common policies and practices.
  • Oversee programs to minimize risks and losses that might arise from financial transactions and business operations undertaken by the institution.
3. Staff management
  • Responsible for increase in efficiency in the Accounts, Stores and Purchasing Departments
  • Ensure, delegating as appropriate, that each the three departments are adequately managed, staffed and resourced.
4. Training and development
  • Identify and advice the Human Resources Manager on the plans for company’s financial training and development needs.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organizations and audiences and to research, analyze and interpret complex information and produce clear verbal and written reports.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work, handle pressure and take day-to-day decisions on the running of the organization.
  • Ability to lead and to contribute to the team.
  • Understanding of equalities and diversity best practice and legislative requirements in relation to service delivery and business development
Skills Set Needed
  • Polished in the application of Quick books
  • Competent financial modelling skills in Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in the negotiation, interpretation & management of loan agreements and various contracts.
  • Competent accounting and control skills related to project entities
  • Proven administrative, leadership and management ability in the areas of strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Ability to develop, monitor and maintain management information systems and procedures.
  • Experience of financial responsibility for a budget.
  • Be aware of special tax laws and regulations that affect their industry.
  • Extensive, specialized knowledge to reduce risks and maximize profit
  • Be abreast of the latest computer technology in order to increase the efficiency of their firm’s financial operations.
Desirable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 2 years experience.
  • CPA K graduate
