The Equity Group Foundation was established in 2006 in recognition of the need to scale up the existing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the Equity Bank Group.
 

The Foundation acts as the institutional home for the Group’s social  initiatives and interventions. Through the Wings to Fly initiative, the Foundation provides students who are academically promising yet economically and socially disadvantaged access to secondary school education. 

The program recognizes that leaders are well-rounded individuals emerging from a multifaceted foundation where academic excellence is core. Character, social and leadership development are developmental traits fundamental for leadership development, traits developed throughout adolescence.

Mentoring Manager
 
The Position
 
Reporting to the General Manager, Education & leadership Development, the rote holder will work closely with the Education Program staff to strengthen the Wings to Fly (WTF) mentorship program. 

He/She will also provide leadership to a team of Mentoring Field Coordinators in the day to day running of the WTF mentorship program.
 
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a comprehensive mentoring program.
• Work with the Foundation team and Branch Champions to ensure effective mentoring visits are done.
• Recruit additional mentors and organize mentor training and induction.
• Support and help track mentors and mentees on the mentorship journey.
• Conduct mentoring visits according to the mentoring program.
• Ensure effective record management of the scholars.
• Analyze data and gaps in the program.
• Ensure proper liaison with the program stake holders including head teachers and teachers in partner schools and District Scholarship Selection Boards.
• Organize regional mentoring forums and leadership congresses.
• Prepare quarterly reports for program partners.
• Work with school counsellors to ensure that scholars psychosocial needs are identified and addressed.

Candidates Qualifications, Knowledge and experience
  • Bachelors degree or post graduate degree from a recognized university with the relevant qualification.
  • Over 5 years experience in the field of mentoring and coaching of youth.
  • Demonstrated capacity and passion for mentoring.

  • Flexibility to work anywhere and meet the demands of tight travel schedules.
