The company wishes to recruit competent, innovative and self-driven persons to fill the following positions:

Marketing & Communications Manager
 
The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining marketing
strategies to meet agreed company objectives in liaison with the CEO and Business Development Team. 

In addition to managing all communications / strategic marketing developments with Marketing Consultants, the Manager will evaluate customer research and market conditions and implement marketing plan alterations as needed.

Overseeing all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities, the Marketing & Communications Manager will have a strong background in brand development, internalization and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the marketing of company products and services to the right market sectors.
  • Develop appropriately segmented marketing collateral and brand distinctions.
  • Develop an annual marketing plan in conjunction with the business development department. This should detail the year’s activity to meet agreed company objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution and ensure marketing collateral is available for key events in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns, collateral and fairs and events.
  • Ensure frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all available media and in particular, manage social media networks.
  • Conduct market research in order to identify market requirements for current and future products / services.
  • Analyse potential strategic partner relationships for product lines.
  • Oversee marketing team.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a first degree in marketing, communications or similar field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in marketing / communications with a company in a related sector.
  • Demonstrate technical marketing skills and company product knowledge.
  • Experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing / brand development.
  • A strong understanding of market dynamics and requirements and rapid ability to convert product / services into written marketing information.
  • A proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and communications skills.
QHSE Officer
 
The QHSE Officer will be responsible for determining, providing and enforcing QHSE and reliability requirements in accordance with ISO 9001 and HACCP Food Handling. 

The position entails assisting in establishing effective controls, procedures, and integrated programs for achieving and maintaining the highest level of consistent QHSE in Afex Group.
 
The QHSE Officer will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • To update and implement the company’s QHSE Policies and Procedures.
  • To implement internal plans on continuous improvement on QHSE projects.
  • Ensure effective execution of QHSE and ensure continuous use.
  • Ensure availability of standards and specifications, perform internal audits to ensure compliance to quality systems and arrange external audits with the certifying body.
  • Compile and implement the ISO 9001 system to ensure that the company achieves certification within set targets.
  • Ensure the company’s Quality Management System and all documentation defining the system are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001.
  • Ensure all required quality tests have been performed and conform to specifications.
  • Ensure compliance to specifications when releasing material for use.
  • Ensure non-conformance is reported and that corrective and preventive action is taken for non-conformance and customer complaints.
  • Ensure continuous training of quality and production personnel on quality issues.
  • Ensure budget control for the department and continually strive to minimise costs.
  • Assist line managers and departments in all aspects of QHSE.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the management.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Health and Safety and/or Environment and/or Quality.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in the delivery of QHSE programs in construction / catering sectors.
  • Proven ability to design QHSE Policies and Procedures in accordance with ISO, HACCP and other international standards.
  • Possess well-developed communication, organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of professional integrity and strong ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team based multi-cultural environment.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight schedules under minimum supervision.
Legal Officer
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for the drawing and reviewing of all contractual agreements between AFEX Group and clients / suppliers. 

He/She will ensure all tenders / projects are designed in accordance with the contractual requirements set out by the clients and provide legal advice in the area of regulatory compliance and other legal advisory services in the countries of AFEX Group’s operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Draw and/or review new and existing contractual and service level agreements.
  • Provide legal advice in connection with the functions of the Company and liaise with external legal counsel on legal matters.
  • Managing the legal risk of the Bank.
  • Prepare legal queries and facilitate solicitation of legal opinions from external counsel to identify legal regulatory risks and issues.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the management.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
  • Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a similar position.
  • A good background in construction, catering and logistics projects and experience of working with a regional and international workforce / client base.
  • Wide knowledge of the Regulatory environment in Kenya.
  • High degree of professional integrity and a strong ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team based multi-cultural environment.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight schedules under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and good communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
Business Development Manager
 
In order to develop the canvas manufacturing division of AFEX Group, we are seeking to engage a dynamic,
young Business Development Manager. 

The candidate will have a proven track record in expanding sales, managing a brand, developing internal systems and procedures for the expansion of sales / production in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a manufacturing brand with the Business Development Team and the C.E.O.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns, collateral and fairs & events.
  • Manage internal and external brand communication.
  • Ensure that the company’s CSR and QHSE requirements are met.
  • Develop sector specific marketing and sales approaches.
  • Edit material / collateral in line with client-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate sales and develop, manage and report on sales budgets.
  • In conjunction with the Line Managers, implement national sales forecasts.
  • Develop activities and implement processes for evaluating opportunities in terms of financial gain, strategy fit and organizational capacity.
  • Research opportunities and select the most appropriate strategies to be developed through the creation and implementing of realistic business plans.
  • Achieve annual business income targets as established during the budgeting process.
  • Prepare verbal and written communication, reports, and presentations
  • Stay on top of industry trends (e.g. new product / technologies / certifications etc.)
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a first degree in marketing, communications or similar field.
  • Good financial knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience of developing sales and marketing approaches in the manufacturing sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience of developing systems and production processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead the team with a common vision and motivate them to do their best work at all times.
  • Possess well-developed organizational, interpersonal skills and communications skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight schedules under minimum supervision.
