Relationship Managers, Trade Finance
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the successful
candidate will be responsible for effectively and profitably managing the trade
finance portfolio so as to achieve sustained business growth and meet revenue
targets.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve
performance targets in trade finance and international banking services.
- Formulate,
resource, deliver and review sales strategies in trade finance and
international business.
- Develop
customized international trade finance solutions to enhance profitability.
- Provide
solutions that meet customers’ needs while adhering to the regulatory
framework and the Bank’s policies
- Recommend
and propose improvements in trade finance and international business
products in order to remain competitive in the market.
- Ensure
maximum utilization of trade finance facilities provided to clients and
originate new trade finance deals/repeat business from existing clientele.
Qualifications and competencies
The candidate must possess the following qualifications and
competencies
- A
degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Management or other related
subject.
- Professional
Banking qualifications such as AKIB, ACIB will be an added advantage.
- Must
have a minimum of five years’ working experience in Trade Finance and
international business with solid knowledge of trade finance products,
import/export finance, commodity finance.
- Have
credit risk management skills.
- Must
be self-driven with excellent communication and selling skills.
- Strong
networking and relationship building capacity.
- Good
leadership and management skills.
Corporate Relationship Officers
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the job holder will
be responsible for offering support to the Relationship Managers and the Head
of Corporate Banking in the areas of credit appraisal, credit administration
and continuity of service in the absence of the Relationship Managers, with the
key objective of driving overall business of the allocated corporate Accounts
to achieve set business targets.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Carrying
out credit appraisal, risk analysis, vetting of proposals from customers
and making specific recommendations
- Marketing
for enhanced business for the Bank
- Monitoring
and control of assigned portfolio
- Carrying
out credit administration duties regarding accounts within portfolio and
providing continuity in relationship management
- Liaising
with third party service providers to ensure close follow up efficiency in
service provision.
- Prevention
of income leakage and ensuring collection of revenue
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A
degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Management or other related
subject. Professional banking qualifications will be added advantage.
- Solid
analytical skills and experience in credit appraisal, handling and
resolving customer requests and queries.
- Strong
communication and team building skills with ability to work with diverse
teams.
- Be
creative, self driven and with strong commercial orientation.
- Must
have a minimum of 4 years banking experience.
Bancassurance Officer
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the successful
candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Bank’s Bancassurance function
as an innovation so as to maximise the bank’s revenue generation as well as
business development.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Offer
leadership in the development, maintenance and review of bancassurance
products.
- Monitor
the growth and performance of the bancassurance function.
- Develop
measures to achieve bancassurance and other related business targets.
- Maintain
good working relationships with service providers
- Undertake
training on bancassurance operations and products across the bank.
- Motivate
and mentor bank staff in respect to bancassurance products and related
business.
- Keep
abreast of new developments in customer preference and advise management
on relevant

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A
degree in Commerce, Statistics, Insurance, Actuarial Science or Marketing.
Professional Insurance qualifications will be added advantage.
- At
least 3 years work experience in the insurance industry
- Good
Analytical Skills
- Possess
high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, strong work ethics as
well as ability to multitask, work well under pressure and prioritise work
in order to meet critical deadlines.
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills.
- Ability
to robustly contribute to the bank’s business development strategy.
Credit Analysts
Reporting to the Credit Manager, the job holder will be
responsible for undertaking credit appraisals in order to ensure a profitable
line of business and a quality loan book.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Authenticate
documentation presented for all credit applications and ensure they meet
the KYC requirements and any other requirements as required by the Bank
and by the regulators.
- Appraise
and make recommendations on credit proposals.
- Ensure
compliance with the Bank’s Credit Policy, procedures and Service Level
Agreements.
- Continuously
monitor and proactively manage risk/exposure for assigned portfolio.
- Ensure
all post approval activities, including conditions precedent to
disbursement are complied with.
- Prepare
management reports and statutory returns.
- Participate
in credit product reviews and development.
- Manage
customer and stakeholder relations in accordance with agreed Service Level
Agreements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A
degree in Commerce, Statistics, Business Management or Marketing.
Professional banking qualifications will be added advantage.
- At
least 4 years working experience in credit analysis and administration.
- Excellent
skills in analysis of Credit and Financial statements.
- Good
report writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent
communication, interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Ability
to work independently, consult and clarify where necessary and make
informed and firm decisions.
Business Development Officers
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the job holder will be
responsible for driving and delivering excellent business performance through
aggressive marketing of Bank’s products ensuring optimum productivity, high
quality/yielding loan book, operational efficiency and outstanding relationship
management.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Aggressively
market for new liability accounts in line with the given targets.
- Spearhead
the lending function of the branch by ensuring growth of high quality loan
book as per targets.
- Ensure
that all conditions pertaining to disbursements are fulfilled prior to
disbursement requests being processed.
- Develop
good customer loans/facilities proposals that comply with the banks credit
administration standards and policy.
- In
liaison with Credit Administration, ensure compliance with all post
approval conditions and the bank’s policy.
- Effective
monitoring of loan repayments and mitigating risks related to defaults and
periodically reviewing the loan portfolio to manage likely problem areas.
- Ensures
regulatory compliance and implementation of effective anti-money
laundering procedures and controls.
- Keep
abreast of new developments in customer preference and advise management
on relevant changes.
- Manage
customer relations under personal portfolio and ensure lasting relations
are established with all clients
